You meant 1-2 and their is a big difference between looking like garbage against Kenny Florian and Clay Guida (top fighters) and looking like crap against Thiago Tavares(who isn't even top 25).

Shane roller In his last 6 fights has beaten , Castillo , Varner , Njokuani and Tavares and he didnt look like garbage , he was being out pointed and then he KO'ed the guy....Gomi has looked poo and hasnt beaten anyone of note other than Griffin in the last few years.

I never said respecting Sherk is a bad thing. I said ranking him so high is absurd.

His last big wins at LW were Hermes Franca (cut in 2009) and Tyson Griffin (lost his last three fights).

People look at Sherk and say he's only lost to GSP, Hughes, Penn, Edgar whatever but we all know Dunham beat him and even then, he's never faced any other top LWs except Florian - and that was in 2006.

Why don't you guys take a look at his record of late. And the Dunham loss is inarguable; even DW said they were going to treat that as a win which is why Dunham faced Guillard and Sherk faced nobody.

Yeah how'd that "win" work out of Dunham again.

Sherk was going to face Guida who is higher in the rankings than Guillard so Dana....lied.

I don't personally love or hate these guys, I'm just saying where they are on the cards and how close they are to title shots. when Sherk does come back he's going to be facing a top 10 guy and if he wins he'll be in line for a title shot.

Cool, a response based entirely on the "argument to the future" fallacy.

Sherk was going to unofficially face Guida (who wasn't higher than Dunham btw) but never did and that's your most solid point here.

Dude when Cote comes back they're going to give him Sonnen and then he'll get a title shot, so obviously Cote is top 5.

What are you talking about?

Guida is now facing Pettis if he wins that fight he's likely fighting for the title. Melvin is still one or two fights away.

The Gomi win is what propelled Guida. At the time Sherk was allegedly going to face him he was 2-2 recently, with wins over Guggerty (cut) and dos Anjos. Remember that most people were picking Gomi to beat Guida, it was that win specifically that put him into title contention.

This is all speculative anyway. Fact: Sherk's biggest win at LW happened five years ago.

Count that he lost to Dunham and he beat Franca on steroids, Sherk's only legit win at LW since 2006 is Tyson Griffin.

He didn't lose to Dunham, your opinion isn't as valid's as the judges, jibbing Sherk because of personal opinion is bullshit and Dunham and G-Sot have not had good 2011's thus far and are pretty far from the title.

Sherk, Guida, Guillard, and Miller are the top guys after Maynard, Edgar, and Pettis.

Always rooting for: Bisping, Shogun, Jon Jones, Daley, Hardy, Sonnen, Fedor, Couture, Jacare.

Okay, so let's say he beat Dunham (DW and everyone in the world knows he didn't).

He's got one credible win at LW since 2006? Against a guy who just got destroyed in the first round?
