I think theres no question now that Anderson is the GOAT, he has every record in the book and has destroyed everyone(excluding Sonnen) he has faced in the UFC, no one has come close to his accomplishments. Its very strange though that he has never been a big fan favourite, 90% of his fights are like watching a real life matrix movie and we all love watching them, but he is still no ones favourite fighter(am exaggerating a little but you get my point).

AS is the best fighter ever period...GSP might pass him, but no fighter will ever simply destroy his opponents as easily as AS did...and no fighter will be THAT much ahead in the striking game like AS
the dude is a living legend, in a time where wrestling is dominating the sport hes there dominating with elite striking and bjj, provin you dont have to have wrestling to be the best of the best
his legacy is one of HLs...you gotta respect his amazing accomplishments
ppl can try to downplay them all you want, at the end of the day you can downplay any great legends accomplishments, fact of the matter is NO fighter can repeat what this man his done!
AS GOAT!

Anderson loves him some RJJ, he copies his style so much. Prob why he was buthurt that Uncle Dana wouldnt let him box RJJ. Now is the time to box RJJ too, he is a shell of his former self. Like Anderson may be too if he hangs around too long.
Will Anderson have the sense to retire at the top??

in America they call that Brett Favre syndrome. It always ends badly, especially for fighters. Anderson is the best and most spectactular fighter in the world at this moment. This thread also reminds us of how long he has been around and how old he is.
Fighters his age who rely on speed and reflexes become mediocre overnight, like RJJ himself. Once they lose some of that speed and those reflexes the holes in their game are much bigger and easier to exploit.
Anderson fights in a way that only Anderson can. He cant just pass on those reflexes and instincts to somebody else and train them to be like that. He is special.
In a perfect world, he beats GSP at 185, challenges for the 205 crown and win or lose that (hopefully win), retire as the undisputed GOAT.
