Why make rampage fight chuck so early?

Its not confirmed yet, but pretending this is happenning at ufc71, why make rampage fight liddell right away? Hes had one fight in the ufc, and it wasnt the rampage we saw in pride.

My guess is that the ufc is running out of contenders for chuck, but i find this to be very risky.. if chuck wins, rampage's career takes a very big hit, and he should of been the next superstar in the ufc(my opinion i guess). if rampage wins, then the ufc will not have built his career enough to make him a good replacement to chuck.

the fans already really like rampage. i'd like the ufc give him one or two more fights so they start to love him. then place him against chuck. if he wins, its great. and if he loses, the fans still love him and want him to climb back up the lhw ranks. it seems smarter than throwing him in against liddell right away. the only way this works out real well is if rampage wins, and then chuck can get a rematch.

If chuck were to beat Rampage, the earlier the better for chuck; before Rampage gathers mommentum and his confidence back. IMHO, Rampage is having trouble w/ his confidence right now. (probbably since loosing to Wandy 2x) His trainer kinda alluded to this in one interview after UFC 67. (sherdog beatdown interview)This is the same reason why Page isn't that eager to face Chuck right away.
I don't like that their facing off so soon...mentally, Page isn't there yet.
Goes to show that Chuck is Dana's boy ...

I really hope this fight doesn't happen yet. It doesn't really make any sense to me. Let rampage have another fight so the fans can get to know him more, and rampage can get a little more time in the octagon.

Chuck Liddell has to fight Keith Jardine before Rampage. Liddell will fight Rampage probably either November or December of this year. And by the way, how much friggin' time does Rampage need to "prepare". Enough already, he knew he was getting signed to the UFC a while ago. Get it together already.

Yeah this is really a MORONIC move on the UFC's part.
Chuck has had how many rematches lately?
When was the last time he fought someone new?
WTF.
Also, Rampage even said he wants a few more fights before he fights Chuck again. Stupid....

IMO, whether it be at UFC 71 or even later, Chuck will KO Rampage. They last fought back in '03, and there is a big difference between the Chuck then, and the Chuck now.

I don't know when this will happen, but when it does Chuck will knock him the f*ck out! IMO.

WTF is all this shit about being fair to Rampage?!? In case any of you idiots havent noticed Chuck aint getting any younger - why the hell should he wait for Rampage to feel settled and confident??! Chuck is the champ and rightly so, hes never ducked a fight and proved him self time and again as well as earning the UFC a ton of cash. Of course the UFC are on his side - FFS!!!

Chuck is the champ and he calls the tune - if Rampage doesnt like it, hes free to **** off back to the WFA....
