Isn't that the North American attendance record only though? I thought record during the peak Pride days still surpassed the 55k that UFC 129 will set.

I'd be up for seeing Anderson vs Okami in Japan. For a Japanese card though, they should also have Wand, Cro Cop, Lesnar, Rampage, and Gomi on the card.

Take out Lesnar and I completely agree. Would be a seriously happy man if they made Silva-Okami on this type of card in Japan- it would be awesome.

Yeah, Shockwave will still hold the total attendance record, but it's actually about 71k with just under 50k paid attendance for $7.4M.
So Toronto will break the gate and paid attendance records, but be 2nd in total attendance.

MMA’s previous record of $7.4 million was set on Aug. 28, 2002, for an outdoor show by the Pride promotion at Tokyo National Stadium and was headlined by Kazushi Sakuraba vs. Mirko Cro Cop. That show will still hold the attendance record, which was publicly announced at 91,108. It is routine in Japan to greatly exaggerate attendance numbers in sports and entertainment, and promotions routinely give away many tickets for stadium shows. Pride officials at the time noted that the arena was actually set up for 80,000 max, and did not sell out. The real attendance was approximately 71,000, with just under 50,000 paid.

80,000 max - they should go there, promote the hell out of it break that 71,000 then with free/cheap tickets. Make some history.
Silva V Okami headliner, Akiyama has no business fighting Marquadt anyway (you keep losing, you should fighting lower level guys), Gomi, Zhang (Chinese), Rampage (was huge in Japan), Mizugaki, Wanderlei, the Nogs
Get Hioki to fight someone - co-headliner and help seal a deal to get him in the UFC FW. Could put together a great card.
Crush the Japanese mafia control via Anderson Silva.
