"I don't know what to expect anymore with the UFC. I'm not on Dana's favorite, uh, fab five, so I don't know. It can go either way. But if it does happen that I get a title shot afterwards, then I have to think about whether I take it depending on who it is and decide on what I want to do. This is a sport and Jones has a pretty good chance of winning this fight and you know, I got him to win it. So if he wins the fight, then I gotta sit down with the team and decide what we do from there. Jones expressed last night in an interview that he would fight me for the title so... I guess if... I mean... I'm no punk, so..."
If you listen closely, that faint laughter you hear is UFC President Dana White, overjoyed at the fact the Jon Jones vs. Rashad Evans conundrum may have solved itself. After listening to his teammate say in an interview that he would fight him if the chips were down, Evans has responded in kind on MMA Live, making sure to let the world know he ain't no punk and if that's what "Bones" wants then, well, he will oblige him. This is all conjecture of course, as Jones has yet to fight for the light heavyweight title, which he will do on March 19 against Mauricio Rua at UFC 128, and we're still unsure as to whether Evans is still the number one contender to that title. But at the very least, it sounds like a fight between the two is no longer out of the question. What do you think, Maniacs? If the belt switches hands in two weeks, should the UFC set it up? Who do you give the early edge to if they do?
Rashad sounds a bit pissed that Bones conceded he would fight him, if push came to shove.
its about time some of these "besties" started to fight, its gunna happen a lot more in the future to, its just a fact of life, deal with it. They can be friends afterwards.
I'm sure he isn't that happy about it, who knows. At least he didn't sound happy about it. At the end of the day i still hope they take it to the cage. Would be weird to see Jones throw those vicious elbows to the face of Rashad though.
The Greg Jackson camp is just too f*cking packed, so these scenarios could come up once in a while.
If only there were more camps as brilliant as his, so that the fighters would be spread out throughout them.

Dana is a happy camper! He gets a *hard one* everytime he hears something like this.
I've mentioned this in another related thread: i believe they had discussions at Jackson camp and decided this could happen in certain circumstances. I son' think they've expressed an opionion without discussing it with Jackson first.
And i don't think they would fight for anything other than the title or a No.1 contender's spot.
PS: could any of the mods merge these related threads?!
Good! Should be settled then, If Bones beats Shogun his first defence should be against Rashad. I don't exactly think Rashad SHOULD get a title shot yet, but I still want him to fight Bones regardless.
