Mr. Wonderful Interview with B/R + Video
Quote:
Rising UFC star, Phil "Mr Wonderful" Davis, had a tumultuous February.
Originally booked to face Matt Hamill at UFC 129, he saw that fight scrapped when Hamill was removed from the card so he could face Quinton Jackson at UFC 130. Jason Brilz was then booked to face Davis on the UFC 129 fight card, but that fight was nixed when Davis was moved to the main event on the UFC Fight Night 24 card. Davis replaced an injured Tito Ortiz and will face Antonio Rogerio Nogueira on the March 26th card.
Davis recently sat down with Bleacher Report for an exclusive interview in the days leading up to his fight with Nogueira.
The 8-0 Davis, an NCAA wrestling champion at Penn State, took time out of his schedule to discuss a variety of topics including his outlook on his "job" as a mixed martial arts fighter, a potential Phil Davis autobiography, his future in the UFC, his family and more.
In the interview, Davis comes across as a humble and self-aware fighter, knowing that he is indeed a "work in progress," at this point in his career.
Summing up his philosophy, Davis states, "It's more important for me to have fun every step of the way than to be the UFC champion. No matter what you do for a living, I feel like it's important to just enjoy what you're doing and have fun with it."
As far as his personality, Davis feels that he "has some flair" and "has what fans want to see."
The UFC must agree with him as the promotion moved him to a main event bout on the aforementioned UFC Fight Night 24 card, which will take place on March 26th from Seattle, Washington's Key Arena. Spike TV will broadcast the main card live, beginning at 10 pm ET.

Davis is the man.
Seems like a laid-back guy who works hard but doesn't take himself too seriously. I think he'll touch the gold once his striking comes along and he rounds out his game a little bit. His submission wrestling/BJJ is already looking REALLY good.

Joke or not, he's way more humble, has a better outlook, & attitude. I would love for him to represent the 205 lb. division as the champion.

Awesome video, i really like that guy.
What makes me worried a little was the color of his eyes in the end. Seemed like he was ill or sth, like a little unhealthy.
