The fact that you read that and felt it was a sign that this thread is goin to s*** says more about you than it does about me..

After all the hype that this potential superfight has received by everyone, including the president of the UFC, GSP would look bad if he doesn't move up and fight Anderson. It will look like he is ducking Anderson, and considering Silva's age this fight needs to happen within a year.

I remember a few years back GSP said that he wanted to move up to 185 eventually. If he waits until Anderson's age catches up with him it will hurt his legacy IMO, and it will be tough for me to ever put him ahead of Silva on the GOAT meter.

...because Gay people dont have families

Even if GSP IS indeed gay, he would be stoopid if he doesnt consider the impact it would have on his income.

Its not about being bankrupt, its about being financially set after your body gives out from years of punishment. Only a dumb ass will take a fight without considering the consequences...both short and long term.

Just like his fights, GSP is playing it smart

The only concern is mma going the way of boxing.

Politics and tricks and what not stopping the biggest fights from happening, arguments over purse splits and money whatever.

One of the things love most about mma and the UFC is that so frequently we have huge fights with the best people fighting the best.

I would hate the UFC and mma in general to go too far down the road boxing has where the super fights the fans really wanna see never happen.

It's bad enough when deals can't be made for fighters in different organisations to end up fighting (how long did it take for Chuck to fight Wandereli for example?)

If GSP vs Silva is the fight the fans of mma most want to see I hope the UFC do everything in their power to make it happen. But of course I fully understand why George (and Anderson for that matter) would not jump into any fight and rather make sure everything is right for them before they sign to such a fight.

this is pretty much a vauge write up of course hes not going to admitt hes scared jeeezus people wake up have u ever heard ANY MMA fighter speak diff its 90% mental and 10% physical . GSP cant hang on andersons level , the weight gain will slow his takedowns and it will be more on Silvas level and Greaser knows this . He wont accept the fight until Silva looses his edge the greaser knows he isnt the p4p king as if one truley thought that they wouldnt hesitate like this to take on a fight of epic purportions . GSP isnt a closer and that Chael fight scared him following one of the most impressive KOS in mma history...Sorry GSP fans you may be the best WRESTLER but MMA is totally diff change your fighting style close out some fights and maybe people will lay off the superfight,....and GREASE doesnt give u an advantage on the feet!!!!!!!!!!

Given all those stomping blocks the time has come again to schedule this fight with zuffa even adding hidden incentives in this yellah mofos favour and hes still tryin to sidestep this fight :smh: did he nt watch anderson's fights with lutter/sonnen?

Or maybe because he's 36, already proven his worth outside of his natural weight class, and the fact that GSP would have a very easy time bulking up for 185. It astounds me people are ignoring the fact that the guy trains at Jacksons, and people think there is no one capable there of bulking up GSP into a sizable 185er, which they would. Oh...and Anderson already said he'd go to 170. In fact, you can even tell the guy was working his way there with his weight in the Leites fight, I think it was that fight. What has GSP done? He's too big for lightweight, too small for middleweight. As much as I dislike BJ Penn, GSP gets pampered by his fans more than any other fighter in the history of MMA.

Reach advantage..wah wah. Size advantage, wah wah. I'm pretty sure Anderson was against all of those advantages you just mentioned against Forrest. If GSP is as good of a fighter and smart of a fighter as many say he is, then there's nothing to worry about?

Just excuses. GSP fans are losing sleep over this idea and will go to the grave with these never ending array of excuses.

Sure: St. Pierre doesn't know his own body, how it operates, how it functions when it gets bigger/heavier, how 30 extra lbs would affect his cardio/endurance, his speed and stuff like that. Who is he to know all of this?!

But "The Keyboard Warriors Legion" knows this.

Just Google.

The heaviest GSP has ever been was about 195.
So there's that difference for you.

If this fight were to happen, i don't think it will be sooner than November-December this year.
But at the moment i am leaning towards the idea that it won't happen at least this year.

Its kind of like the BJ v GSP situation, BJ got beating pretty bad but because he was the much smaller fighter and he stepped up a weight to fight him, his reputation didnt get hurt that much at all, if anything it just made him a more popular fighter. If GSP steps up to MW to fight Anderson, my opinion of him will increase tenfold, il respect him way more he fights Anderson and lose's, than if he doesnt fight him and continues dominating at WW.
I agree, if G.S.P thought Andy and lost or vice versa it doesn't really matter as they both be fighting outside their more natural weight class so whoever loses will still be the king of their respective division. I think for the moment though we shouldall be concentrating totally on the G.s.p vs Shields fight as Jake can pose some serious problems.
However should Jake win i'd love to see Anderson vs the winner of Jones/shogun although I can't see the UFC going for it

LOL
Quote:
"He's been training really really hard" - Ed Soares
What does that mean?!

It means Anderson was already in the process of losing weight while preparing for his fight against Maia.
What do you expect him to do?! Stay at 220 lbs up until 3 days before the weigh ins?!

My post was a response to someone who said there is no way Anderson weighs 225-230 lbs.
Guess what?! He is that heavy when he is not fighting.

And of course he has two ways of approaching weight cutting: one for MW and one for LHW.

The heaviest GSP was is 193-195 lbs. When he isn't fighting and not training too hard.
Check out his weight when his camp has started and he's training hard...One month before the fight you will discover he is at 180 and as the fight approaches he's losing more and more exstra weight, in order to pass the weigh ins.

PS: it's either what i said, or Soares is a retard who has amnesia or is a f*ckin liar.
ottherwise how can you explain him saying to different things?!
I believe my explanation is more realistic.

Cheers.
