'Angry' Jones bans talk of Rashad Evans showdown
http://www.espn.co.uk/ufc/sport/stor...ml?CMP=OTC-RSS
Quote:
Jon Jones' patience finally snapped over the topic of a potential fight with Rashad Evans, and one journalist bore the brunt of the light-heavyweight's frustration.
Jones is gearing up for the biggest fight of his life against Mauricio Shogun Rua at UFC 128, which sees the 23-year-old get his first UFC title shot. However, much of the pre-fight talk has surrounded his relationship with Evans.
The pair train together at Greg Jackson's gym and previously vowed never to fight, although Evans recently softened his stance. Jones has been asked incessantly if he too had come around to the idea of sharing an Octagon with the former 205lb champion, and his patience finally gave in.
"With all due respect to you as a reporter - and I want to make it clear to all the other reporters - but I absolutely hate when people mention Rashad Evans, especially throughout this training camp," Jones said during a pre-UFC 128 conference call.
"He's a friend of mine, but I'm fighting Shogun, one of the best fighters that's been around for a long time, and for people to even be mentioning Rashad Evans right now, I think it's ludicrous.
"Rashad is not in my mind, he's not in my being. He has absolutely zero to do with my heart and who I am right now. Right now it's me versus Jon Jones, and I'm beating all the weakness out of myself, beating all the give-up out of myself, I'm beating the lack of cardio, I'm beating the lack of confidence - any sign of weakness that's in my heart, I'm getting rid of it.
"The fact that people are bringing [up] Rashad, it almost angers me. This guy has nothing to do with Shogun, and I think from here on out I won't even answer a question about Rashad."

OOOOOoooooOOOOoooo!!!... angry. I like it.

To be fair, what does he have left to say about Rashad? He's already said what people want to hear, he will fight him.

F*CKING AGREED!
Both - Jones and Rashad - have expressed their opinions regarding this matter, so i just don't get it why some "reporters" insist on this subject.
Getting ready to face Shogun for the belt and he is constantly asked about Rashad!
That would piss me off also...

Is there a video or audio clip of this?
Also I am petitioning for a new rule that says the next person to ask about Jones vs Rashad gets put in the octagon against both Jones and Rashad.

Reporters can be a pain in the ass.
They don´t have the minimum respect for the fighters (in this case JBJ).
The man is on training camp, trying to focus 110% on the fight ahead and these tools keep asking him BS questions that can drive him unfocused.

To be asked after the fight and only if he takes the belt.

I too understand his reaction.
If you have to answer the same question over and over again, it flippes you out at some point.
He said he's gonna fight him, that's it.
He has Shogun now and this is all that guy thinks about.
Goddamn reporters...
