Brandon Vera UFC Contract Offer

I just did this thread and it disappeared. Weird.

Anyways. I now understand why the UFC couldnt keep Vera.

His demands were way over the top.

Wow, no way in hell anyone should pay Vera the type of money hes looking for. 200k a fight is a hell of alot more then I thought they would offer for him anyways.

He is just trying to pave the way for the future. These guys all deserve that kind of money, some more than Vera, some less.
In a couple of years, he'll be getting that kind of cash.

I totally agree Wise. Yes he has great potential and if he would have signed for that 200K and then would have kept winning he would have gotten the big bucks.

I dont blame him for leaving if EliteXC is going to pay it(hope for him they dont go bankrupt or out of business before he gets to fight).

Nobody knows for sure, but in the longrun he "might" have screwed himself out of money. Thats "if" hes the real deal and can be a headliner otherwise finacially if he gets that money, its great for him.

Vera is a bum. If he wants that kind of money, he better whip Cro Cop or Arlovskis ass, which wont happen. 200k a fight is very very very good. He obviously doesn't give a @$#@ about MMA and only cares about money. What a cocky bastard. I hope he gets injured and can't fight anymore because he doesn't deserve the honor to fight anywhere

Vera wanted 1 million a fight... thats ALOT of ****ing money. 200k a fight is great.. thats more then most 3 year salaries of average people. Maybe once UFC gets as popular as NFL,NBA, etc.etc. then 1 million a fight we be reasonable.

Like I said....he's trying to pave the way for other fighters. UFC has enough income now to pay out millions to their best guys. And that's what he is trying to do. Leave the guy alone, he has a right to ask for anything he wants. It's his life, not yours or mine. He is the one putting his health on the line 4-5 times a year.
MMA fighters are underpaid as a whole, and he is trying to prove a point.

1 million dollars! Is he out of his damm mind? He's good but not that good. C'mon Vera, take the $200,000 contract.

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam
