Jake Shields must be happy

Now the UFC fan base will see highlights of him dominating and subbing guys. It's going to look real good when they show how he beat Hendo, subbed Daley etc.

Shields must be pumped, perfect timing for the build up to the fight with GSP.

Id more happy to be someone like Shane Del Rossario or Bigfoot.

If they impresses in the next few fights on their contracts i can see them being right up for a title shot , considering Carwin , Lesnar and Junior are really the only high level HW's and quite soon it could only be Carwin and Junior that have any chance to beat Cain.

I think you misunderstood the point of the thread. The OP means the UFC can now use SF highlight tape to hype the GSP fight. Before they could only show brief clips of an unimpressive Kampmann fight.

SF had the same problem with Fedor, they couldn't use any Pride footage and they had basically no tape to hype him up with until the Rogers KO.

Well to me i dont think Shields will really care that much about his own HYPE , and showing some extra footage won't really make alot of difference so i suppose i can agree he probably is happy that they can hype more but Shields isnt the first guy that springs to mind when thinking of guys who are happy about this purchase.

I think most fighters want fan approval more than anything, and a lot of UFC fans don't even know who Shields is. SF tapes will increase his credibility a lot in the eyes of the fans.

He's going to need that after GSP makes him look average too

It's nice to see that the UFC actually acknowledges Strikeforces existence now.

I think this is HUGE as far as establishing Shields as a legit threat to the casual fan with Dan Henderson still being a known legitimate name.

Lol, that sounded funny to me Hopefully SF won't go the way of PRIDE after ZUFFA bought them out.
