I think the hate towards fedor from dana and fans is mainly because of Vadim, M-1 and some of his outrageous fans.

I've got conflicted feelings about fedor because of that as well.

I will never say anything bad about Fedor, he conducts himself with class every fight and thats hard enough to do with 30+ fights in your career.

On the other hand, I hate M1 and it would be amazing if, even at the latter end of his career, Fedor departs from M1.

Dana has shown time after time he will put good business decisions over personal fueds. Why would he screw Fedor in his remaining fights instead of giving him the big fights people want to see and make a shit load of $$$$$$$ from it?

I couldn't agree more. Outside of Diaz it always seems like they are pulling teeth to get them to fight non-main event fights. Even if they are main event sometimes too!

Exactly. Dana will NEVER f*uck over Fedor. He knows full well how highly he is revered in the MMA community. Especially with the fighters. If he did anything dirty to him, it would not do his relations with his fighters any good at all. No. Hes going to give him the big fights till his contract runs dry. Then, depending on how well he performs, he'll either offer him another contract, or not. Nothing sinister. Nothing to rock the boat.

Thats what I reckon gov'ner.

Yeah Dana will NOT screw Fedor about. All his twitter comments and interviews bashing him have to be taken with a pinch of salt cos Dana does it to every good fighter who has turned down the UFC.

Fedor is a cash cow, Dana and everyone at ZUFFA knows this. He might not draw as much as Brock or GSP but he will still make ZUFFA a shit load of bank. Whether ZUFFA renew his contract is another matter but whilst they have him they will use him well and get the biggest drawing fights for him i reckon.

This is so weird! Fedor has said he would never work under the UFC. I get the feeling he will retire sooner then later! I hope I'm wrong on this one!

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

The question mark regarding Fedor retiring or not still remains.
Maybe now, he will really retire.
I hope not.
At least one or 2 fights in SF, untill the full merger happens.

Or maybe Dana can now send Couture to SF to fight Fedor.
The fight that never happeened.....

.

BELIEVE!

It was never Dana vs Fedor, it was Dana vs M-1. I firmly believe M-1 is the reason alot of fans and maybe even Dana himself have animosity towards him. M-1 were under the delusion that Fedor was bigger than the sport and no athlete is ever bigger than the sport they compete in.

If Fedor and M-1 just shutup and fight there won't be any issues. But if M-1 tries bullying Strikeforce like they have tried in the past with the contract re-negotiations and threatening to not fight unless this demand is met etc. you can bet your ass Dana is going to step in. Dana isn't the tyrannical figure alot make him out to be, hell he let Wanderlei walk into the octagon with a PRIDE shirt on during a UFC PPV to promote a Chuck-Wand fight it was PRIDE that backed out of that co-promoted deal not Dana. Dana is a fair man and always has been.
