Nobody can deny the expansion and ever-growing excitement the UFC creates, it has spread like wildfire. I'm surprised the MLS is mentioned, the MLS stinks. I'm a huge soccer fan but I can't stand the MLS.

Well yeah by that thinking, teachers should be the highest paid professional because they're the reason why they're doctors, lawyers, etc... The money that these organizations make just don't generate out of thin air. The fans are what make this stuff go, and blame it on the fans like us for other athletes getting paid so much money. If you think other athletes are making a lot, then imagine how much the heads of these organizations are making off of them then contrast that to how much the UFC makes in comparison to their fighters, who are promoted as the best in MMA today. They are our entertainment after all... Unfortunately, the fighters in the UFC should be getting paid more.

We are the ones who PAY to watch guys go out there to try to kill each other and knock each others' heads off (exaggerating). Why would you not want to see the fighters of this sport get paid, or any sport we watch for entertainment? Where would you rather see majority of the money YOU paid to go see a sporting event go to? These guys put their bodies and livelihood on the line for our entertainment and to provide for their families. Putting one's health on the line especially when millions of us pay to see it, they are warranted to get paid, period. There are some guys who don't live up to their contracts, but they're also athletes who put in 200% for our entertainment. That point is moot.

And I'd like to add that I also think MLS shouldn't even be in the conversation. They might have progressed, but they don't even have any of the top players in their own sport.
