Now I really want Shogun vs Jones to be a draw just to see how high pitched Rashad can get.

I don't think it's about money. I remember an interview with Jackson a couple of years ago and he said he didn't even charge his professional fighters for training and made most of his money on the regualar everyday people. I'll try and find the interview.

This results in less money for Jackson and company.I agree with White when he says that MMA is not a team sport. And friends can fight each other, it has been done many times before. And more often than not they make the best and most entertaining fights. You either want the title or not.

A lot of gyms do that (even local gyms a lot of the time let their amateur guys train free), but bigger gyms like Jackson's have book deals, sponsor deals, etc to make the extra income.

I find it hilarious how anytime this subject is brought up it just turns into a popularity contest..Its like ppl cant see past their hatred for rashad to admit that jones pulled a ho move here..Even if he was open to fight rashad why mention it now? why put the cart before the horse when u already have a tough task in the form of shogun? thats a sign of immaturity and maybe a window into how jones handles pressure (like the hamill fight when the ref wouldnt stop it)

Correct me if i'm wrong but who is the seasoned vet that was already in the jackson camp and who is the guy that was just brought in? If there is a code that greg jackson mandated (which he has clearly recently let up on) shouldnt it be rashad's choice (just out of seniority) whether that fight happens or doesnt.. All through this rashad has been respectful (maybe out of fear of gettin his azz kicked) but respectful nonetheless.Jones comments seemed antagonistic which is just out of the blue and unnecessary. If y'all werent drinking that bones kool aid u would see who the real b!tch is

Good to hear that they might fight each other. Now Rashad can be kind of like my insurance policy. If Jones beats Shogun, Rashad will just run through him and take his belt away.

The best thing about 128 is Rashad getting his ass whooped no matter who wins.

I don't know if your comment was a response to mine... but i didn't say Side is hating Jones. Not at all.
In the end, i appreciated him making this thread because i found out some stuff i didn't knew before.

And i am right about Jones havinf too much attention on him, even though he is fighting for the belt.
I just woke up and two more Jon Jones related threads have appeared.
Visit all major MMA related sites and you will see: every 2nd article is about Jones.
I believe every fan enjoys reading stuff about one of his favorite fighters, but in this case i think the media has gone too far.
That's were i was hinting at in my first post.
Just leave the guy focus on his fight.

It was inevitable although I figured it would be Jardine vs Rashad who would have broke the ice. *NOTE* They did fight on the TUF show, but not on a main event card. Kos vs Fitch has to happen too eventually. The only camp whom I see will abide by the BRO CODE and RAUNO can attest to this because he is of legendary stature is Blackhouse. I was just talking about this to a fellow MMA fan earlier about how I never seen Anderson so riled up before any of his fights. Against Vitor he was genuinely furious. Guess what, he unleashed a nuclear assault. Morale of the story. It really adds a great storyline and makes for a compelling fight.

Jones vs Rashad...lets do it.

I don't see anything strange with Jones' response. To have people bringing up Rashad all the time when he has a huge challenge in Shogun ahead of him and needs to stay focused. Of course it's annoying to him.

Having said that, I think Rashad bases who to fight solely on what he thinks is best for his career (i.e. get the belt). What risks and potential benefits are involved in taking a fight. Not any notions of friendship. But that's just what I think.
