I don't get Hughes point. GSP has the best wrestling for MMA. He sets up his TD's better than anyone and has unbelievable top control.
It's like saying Gabe Gonzaga would beat Cain, JDS and Brock in a BJJ competition... so What, It has nothing to do with their achievements in MMA?
Hughes is just trying to keep himself relevant. It's sad as Matt was one of the guys who got me into MMA in the first place and every year since he has gone down in my estimation.

Hughes always has something stupid to say like this.
I could say that in pure grappling, Renzo would have killed Hughes, but that is entirely irrelevant to what Hughes does for a living...

Hughes would do better in a no-gi grappling match with Renzo than GSP would do in a NCAA rules wrestling match with Koscheck IMO.

But that's not the point. The point is, who really cares if Kos is the better pure wrestler? Just like nobody cares that people like Almeida and Renzo are probably better pure grapplers than Hughes.
If that was their professions, then it would make sense. But GSP is not a wrestler, he is an MMA fighter and he beat Kos. Saying Kos is a better pure wrestler doesn't make a bit of difference.

I think everybody is over looking some things here. Hughes is not a dick all the time. I mean the guy flew out to help B.J. with wrasslin and a lil game plan. He even said him and B.J. had a lot in common. ........I enjoyed the read OP!!

Bingo. I feel GSP has some of the best MMA wrestling around and that's all that matters as he's an MMA fighter.
