Countering works best against orthodoxy. The fact that Jones is an unpredictable striker, with insane wrestling and devastating top game, means he is anathema to Silva.

it's definitely possible that anderson would have an answer for jbj's weird striking, but that reach advantage is the issue. shogun couldn't even get close to jbj without getting drilled.

all that said, i would be pulling for anderson, but i still think jbj would win.

someone once asked me when we talk about PrideFC why we never put

silva likes getting punch, he does not go after u he waits for you to strike. then he dances and goes in for the kill. Remember even before the jones hype people had silva beating shogun. Plus silva does has a great body structure to match jones.

i definitely think silva would have beaten shogun, too. not only that, but i think silva would've finished him quicker. i was never completely sold on the shogun hype.

and to the post above yours, jbj hit shogun with that same front kick at least 3 times.

anderson does have deadly accuracy, and i would love to see him ko jbj.

sadly it would never happen if it does a 38 year old silva vs a 25 year old jones seems very unfair. Then it begs for the question would a 33-35 year old silva beat jones. I'm still amaze how silva is this good this late.
