Bones still should have had many more fights before getting the title shot. As a true MMA fan, I can spot talent. It will happen.

This is a message board probably represent 2% of mma fans, some people are fans of fighter and homers. Jones is talented no doubt i see the talent there. But he has to defend the title before we talk about a super fight. It took silva 12 title defence and GSp what 6 or 7 to make a super fight happen. The hardest part about winnig the belt is keeping it. Shogun,Evans, page, machida, forrest, have all failed, jones has yet to defend the title and you want a superfight. I'll be honest machida, shogun, evans, forrest all looked like they were destine for greatness when they won.

"All the other fighters who got to fight Silva deserved it more than Jones?" - I don't really understand this comment. What guys are you referring to? And whatever guys you are referring to, they fought Anderson before Jon Jones defeated Shogun...or Ryan Bader for that matter. So either way this comment is silly.

I never said that there is someone left to fight Anderson at middleweight. Never said that and I am in full agreement with that.

You act as if you picked a needle out of a haystack by picking Jones to beat Shogun. If I had to bet anything I'd say the predictions were pretty much split that slightly leaned towards Jones. Not to mention Jones was the favorite on paper to win this fight. "Look what happened tonight." I saw what happened. An out of shape, fat Shogun appeared and Bones Jones took advantage of it. Still impressive though either way.

Jones isn't staying light heavy for long? He hasn't been a champion for more than 24 hours.

You can stand by what you want...the fact still remains anyone who thinks Jon Jones deserves a super fight with the best fighter in the world after defending his title once...to which he hasn't defended yet (don't you love broken record syndrome?) is ridiculous. To take a note from you, please...fill me in, or atleast attempt to convince me why this fight should happen.

Time will tell...feel free to rub my nose in it if it doesn't come to pass.

Poor Anderson!
He has his schedule all planned out and he doesn't even know it.
He still has some challenges at MW, then he would have to drop to catch weight for GSP, after that is going up to LHW for Jones...and while he's there, why not eat some 50 hamburgers and go up to GW to fight Brock or Cain.
After fighting at HW he will challenge Jose Aldo maybe...

Jon Jones is a LHW and he is staying at LHW, for at least 3-4 years. Even though he has the body frame of a HW.

He will grow into a bigger body, because he is only 23 and he's been doing weight lifting for just over a year.
So he is growing. And as he becomes older, he will become bigger and stronger.

Quote:
He eventually started training with Team Greg Jackson occasionally, then made the gym his permanent home. During his time there, one of the biggest changes he's made has been to his body. When Jones joined the gym prior to his UFC 100 fight with Jake O'Brien, he weighed 220 pounds with 15 percent body fat. Working with strength and conditioning coach Kelly Tekin, he has remade himself into a more efficient fighting machine. Prior to his UFC 126 camp for Ryan Bader, Jones weighed 222 pounds and had just eight percent body fat, meaning his muscle mass increased by 18 pounds in less than two years.

He is doing great atm. He won't give this up, for now.

Not it doesn't.
It makes absolutely no sense.

Sonnen dominated Silva for 23 1/2 minutes, by using only basic wrestling.

Compared to Sonnen, Jones is:
- bigger
- stronger
- faster
- more aggressive
- more explosive
- more creative with his moves
- causing far more damage
- better striker, better grappler

He's better at everything,

Silva could pose some threats on the feet, but then we will think of Jones' reach and ring movement, his set-ups, the way he covers distances...and we will get a bigger picture.
I'll admit though. I would be a fan of that fight if it had a special rule, at least for one round: no takedowns!

Let Silva fight at MW. He still has: Okami, Sonnen 2, Palhares and.......Falcao.

.

BELIEVE!

Yeah.. Jones-Silva needs to happen.. just like Silva-Shogun needed to happen... just like Machida-Silva needed to happen.. Not that I'm saying Jones will be the same, but in the last ~4 years the LHW belt has been defended only 2 times, and I think it says a lot about the division, and it's silly so say that there's no one for Jones. Maybe he should just retire then?

Fertita is thinking about money, silva is 36 his biggest cashcow gsp is 29. If silva whoops his ass then gsp is not as marketable as he would be if he had not lost to silva. Silva losing to gsp would make him god but the odds are against him. Silva is on his way out soon.
