Shoguns health

SO, watching the fight I can't help but notice one of the final elbows landed by Jones before Shogun got to his feet only to fall to more strikes garnered a pretty painful looking reaction from the former light-heavyweight champ.

Kind of reminded me of Vera's reaction to getting his orbital bone broken. Then the amount that his eye swelled up almost immediately after the fight gives me cause to wonder:

Did Jones break shoguns orbital? Have there been any reports on Shoguns health since the fight? I would honestly not be surprised to hear of internal damage, and possible broken face bones.

I'm not totally sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if more than just orbital is broken along with some ribs.

Am I the only one who noticed Shogun tapping out as Herb Dean pulled him off? Shogun didn't look like himself last night, it was very sad.

He looked like a guy totally outclasses in every aspect of MMA and combined with a woeful gas tank, the result Shogun's performance.

I said to the wife as shogun walked in his eyes weren't full of confidence. I don't think it was one thing but the huge layoff helps in no way. I had Jones winning but hated to see shogun's defeated expression.

It was a little surprising, I thought that he'd come in gunz a-blazing because of the hype train....but yeah I think he knew that he'd leave without the belt.

I saw this as well, I never thought I would see the day, but he was taking a hell of a beating.

As for the comments about his cardio, it only seemed to falter after he took some massive shots to the chin from Jones.

Jones is just 10 levels above Shogun in terms of athleticsm. He is taller, bigger, stronger, faster, more explosive, massive reach, injury free, low body fat and awesome cardio.

Shogun is a great fighter but he was made to look like a complete can, Jones is just superior and I think if they fought 100 times Jones would win 100 times.

This is coming from a MASSIVE Shogun fan and someone who lost a fair bit of money betting on Shogun.

John Jones is as good, if not better than the hype surrounding him.
