JBJ vs. Rua more than just a win

JBJ's win over Rua is more than just a win. It is a good example of what is going to happen in MMA over the next 10 years - better athletes entering the sport. Rua, a proven, seasoned champion who had beat all comers got absolutely and totally dominated by a superior athlete. The fight wasn't close. He had no chance and he knew it, and Jones is only 23. More to come.

I'm pretty sure we're not gonna be seeing more people like Jones come into MMA. He's truly a freak of nature with his reach and size.

He's the Brock Lesnar (not skill wise) of the LHW in my opinion.

Imagine someone of his size and athleticism, coming in with a lifetime of MMA training

Every time I see those 7 year old's go at each other with flying Arm Bars in that Tap Out commercial, I cannot help but think of the future

It's true, but Anderson Silva made a very interest comment about Jones being audacious in trying high flying maneuvers. He even said that he knows because he was at that stage before even though he still implements it and even more amazing executes it with precision.

After a decade in the sport we will see how Jones is mentally. How will he endure the critics, haters, spotlight, new found fame, money, challengers, and most importantly how will he adapt when it all comes to an end. It could be tmr or twelve years from now.

The last time I saw something like this was back in 1996 with "The Phenom."

Only time will tell...in the meantime I'll be watching intently like everybody else to his meteoric rise!
