JBJ at HW?

After the fights last night, my buddy and I got into a discussion about how we think Jon Jones would do at heavyweight.
We came to the conclusion that he would get destroyed, as his reach is not as significant at HW as it is in LHW.

My pick to beat him was Brock Lesnar,
Lesnar is a 2 time All-American NCAA Division 1 wrestler,
his reach is 81 inches, hes 6'3 and weighs in at 280 on fight night.
Jones is high school wrestling champion, 6'4 with a 84.5 inch reach, weighing in at around 220 on fight night.
So Bones doesn't have that much physical or wrestling advantages over Lesnar.

Which heavyweights do you believe can beat jones?

i think that in a few years time, Jones will be a lot bigger and stronger as he will still be growing. lets not forget he is only 23.

i think you should be comparing a 240-250 pound jones. and by then he will have improved even more in different disciplines. to be honest a 250 pound Bones is just scary!

we saw what happened at UFC 121, Horsepower Vs Technique. i dont think JBJ would have a problem with a 280 pound lesnar just like Cain didnt. in saying that i see Brock evolving more in a few years time also.

It's still really early to talk about him at heavyweight, he still has to clean out 205. But I think almost all of the top 5 or 6 UFC HW's pose interesting problems for Bones. Cain would be a tough guy for Jones to beat imo. He's a cardio machine, he's strong as a bull, has some pretty good boxing and elite wrestling.

JDS would be a tough fight for Jones. Brock is intriguing but he needs better instincts in the standup which at his age are going to be hard to develope. Carwin I think could KO him but his gas tank is a question mark and that would worry me in a Carwin fight. If Carwin won't gas I think Carwin takes him. Mir is interesting, I think Mir can sub him but Mir has a tendency to fold after taking damage and he's pretty inconsistant. If Overeem comes over I think Overeem TKO's him. Werdum would also be very intriguing if he came over.

I know its extremely early to be thinking about HW but we just got into the discussion yesterday and I just wanted to see what you guys thought.
But I'm sure if Jones continues to dominate the LHW division then he will be able to "test the waters" at 265, like Silva did at 205.

His body is still growing. In three years he should be at HW. He looked huge against Shogun!

I really think Jones ATM would do very well at HW but not the best because he is not big enough yet. In a few years when he gets up to 250 he will be a monster. I think Jones could beat Cain/JDS/Nelson/Mir/Cro Cop/Schaub/Mitrione/Rothwell. I think he would have big problems with Lesnar and Carwin though. Too much size and they are very good wrestlers as well. He could still beat both of those guys though.

He would beat most HW's at his current weight. He would beat Brock in the same way Cain did. Carwin and Cain would be very tough but I wouldn't count Jones out. I think people are in denial about how good Jon Jones is.

Been reading many posts recently? 90% of people on this forum would pick Jon Jones over god. I'm one of them.
