The UFC should go after Shogun...

This has probably been mentioned before, don't think I've seen a thread on it but anyways...in the UFC's continous progress of achieving the best fighters in the world I think shogun would be an excellent target. He's an exciting and extremly talented young fighter with a bright future who is living in the shadow of his big popular chute boxe leader...whatever that guys name is ive seem to forgotten...I realize he is one of Prides biggest stars (along with Wandy who I was referring too) but if the UFC can take away Crocop I think it could be quite possibly to somehow get shogun out of wandys shadow and fight Chuck for the title (or perhaps rampage) if he would be able to fight chuck it would finally solve some of the questions of who is number one out of the top 3 light heavys in the world. I personally think shogun is the best in the world but anyways,we will never know for sure until chuck, wandy, and shogun fight, what do you guys think?
This is getting long so I'll shut up, but I think lightweight, welterweight, middleweight and even the heavyweight divisions are getting pretty deep but it seems the iceman has pretty much killed off most of the competition. But with the new addition of rampage, shogun would just be incredible to have....I'd also love to see the UFC get ahold of aleksander and denis kang...ok I'll stop.

shogun would be an automatic title contender for the ufc. that would be one of the best additions to the lhw division ever and definitely would rank as high among mma fans as the additions of rampage and cro cop. and if money is an issue, i'm willing to sell a kidney on the black market to help out.

I would not complain if the UFC brought in Shogun. Shogun is one of the most shining prospects in the LHW division, and he beat Rogerio, smoked Jackson, and mowed through Arona like he was nothing. That is quite impressive, and I think he'd be a fan favorite in the UFC. The main thing I dig about Shogun is that he isn't one dimensional. If you want to go to the ground, then he'd be more than happy to oblige. You want to stand? Well, he'll stand with you as well.

Shogun vs Chuck would so rule. Hell, him giving Rampage another manly asskicking would so rule as well.

Babalu vs Shogun 2 would rock the party that rocks the body.

but then if that happened then all the sudden the UFC fans that have been bashing him would have to change there minds instantly and jump on the Shogun bandwagon.

all kidding aside I think the Pride rules are probably better suited for the guys in Chute Boxe as they love there soccer kicks and stomps. But if any of the Chute Boxe guys would be able to make that transition, I think Shogun would be the one as he is so well rounded.

I don't disagree that the chute boxe guys (mainly wandy and shogun from what i've seen) like their soccer kicks and stomps, but there is no doubt in my mind they could still easily dominate without them. They both have deadly clinches, ko power, great kicks, and excellent BJJ. Shogun would be a force in the UFC and like Damone said would set up lots of exciting matchups (chuck, rampage, babalu). I know he's young and could probably wait for the Pride title, but who knows wandy could hold it for a few more years, I realy think he should come over here and challenge for the uFC belt then head back to pride when Silva's no longer champ, kinda similar to crocop's plan. (Except he isn't best friend's with fedor
Anyways I also think Aleksander is kinda living in the same shadow, yes I know he would get his ass handed to him by his brother whereas silva vs. shogun would be the fight of the century, but even so he would be an excellent contender for the heavyweight title in the ufc, and wouldn't have to worry about contending for a title that he won't be able to fight for as long as big-bro is on top.

It would be a logical career move for Shogun.
1. Easier travel from Brazil to the states as opposed to Japan
2. He could actually go for the title instead of just fighting contenders.
3. It would settle so much as far as who the no1 LHW in the world is (for most part)
4. He wouldnt have to fight Wand in any kind of tourney.
5. ChuteBox would rule the world in the LHW division.
6. He could cut some weight and shut Anderson Silva's face for the BS that went on.
7. He could get his rematch with Renato.

Nonetheless, I dont want Shogun to leave Pride. The rules in Japan suit him so much better.

The UFC getting Shogun would be damn near the ultimate loss for Pride. Fedor would be the worst loss for Pride, but next after him it would either have to be Shogun or Gomi.

As far as the UFC rules hurting Shogun, I'm not so sure. How often do soccer kicks and stomps actually work? Forget about Wandy holding the ropes and stomping a mud hole in Yuki Kondo for a second and the answer is not all that often. I don't all that often see Shogun throw knees from the sprawl-stall position either, so no big loss there. Now on the other hand let's think about an expert Muay-Thai fighter who can suddenly use his elbows (almost) freely again.
