UFC.com Fight Polls

Has anyone else noticed that the fight poll for UFC 68 is overwhelmingly in favor of Randy Couture beating Tim Sylvia. I'm by no means a Tim fan, but I gotta think Tim will be a heavy favorite. Tim is twelve or thirteen years younger, at least 30 pounds heavier and six inches taller. Regarding the age, it's not like we have a 23 year old fighting someone who is 35. Randy is 43 years old! Most of the fight polls seem fairly accurate, but I gotta wonder why this one so contrary to what I'd expect.

You know...another thing is, I'm guessing quite a few, if not EVERYONE who voted for Couture, vote for him solely out of respect. Everyone respects the man for what he stands for, and what he's done. That's probably a large reason why it's so lop-sided.

Also, people in general, just despise Big Tim. We all have seen that first hand.

Yeah it's probably more-so peoples love and respect for Couture as well as despise of Sylvia that would make them vote for Couture. I'd vote Couture because of that though I think Sylvia will win

like trey said, that poll is more of a respect/disrespect poll than who is really gonna win. sylvia is gonna come into the fight the favorite based on odds, but randy will be the fan favorite.

When you start making bets, you begin to realize how much HOPE you put into your beliefs. Who you want to win should have nothing to do with who you think will win, but it does, and it becomes obvious to you, when you make bets. I wonder how many of those people who THINK Randy will win are actually BETTING on him to win.

Well said, Im a Couture fan (who isn't) but lets be serious I wouldn't bet N E THING on him beating Tim, everything is stacked against him.

I have also noticed this, they think that Randy will win because he had more Accomplishments in his career and he is a bigger name. I think most of the people voting on the poll are casual ufc fans who don't really know anything about MMA. I think that tim will win the fight.
