I think Matt Hughes would have a good chance at beating Anderson Silva. He obviously wouldn't try standing with him because he knows he wouldn't last 1 round. I'm also sure he'd be alert of his jiu jitsu skills because of what he saw happen to Lutter.

He may have gotten dominated by Georges St. Pierre but I dont think Anderson has St. Pierre like takedown defense. Besides, Hughes only tried 2 takedowns attempts on St. Pierre i believe. He'd have a much smarter strategy against Anderson Silva if he fought him because he KNOWS what hes capable of doing when standing.

It would be interesting.

I don't think Silva has takedown defense like GSP. When Hughes tried to take down GSP in the second fight, GSP just shrugged him off like it was me trying to take down the Big Show. I'm not sure that anyone other than GSP can do that.

Although Hughes is not going to have the same strength at 185. The point of the weight-cutting thing is that he is a 185-er, or more, who is blessed with the ability to cut a lot of weight. Fighting at 185 he is going to be fighting guys who are even bigger than him and are dropping down to his weight. Of course, he's still as stong as hell from all that wrasslin', and all that farming.

I never really thought of this before, I agree Hughes would have a great chance though Silva is a BJJ Black Belt and so he wouldn't be a push-over on the ground.
