What will GSP's gameplan for the Jake Shields fight?
So the title says it all. What do you guys think his gameplan would be?

Striking. Shields is ridiculously deficient in it. And GSP's takedown defense will keep him out of harm's way.
expect Jabfest v.2.0

The same exact thing he did against Koscheck mixed with a couple of sprawls.

^^ What they said. Stick and move. GSP's stand up is much farther along than Shields'. GSP will be able to jab and Superman punch the heck out of Shields until they get into the 3rd round where he'll start throwing some chopping leg kicks. I think Shields' cardio isn't on the same level as GSP so once GSP starts chopping his legs away with kicks later in the fight he'll eventually open up on the head (possible like GSP/Hughes 2) and rattle Shields. Despite how tough Shields is I'm hoping that GSP pushes himself for a finish this time around. He should have finished Hardy and KOS and he was unable to seal the deal. I'm hoping that after Shields starts wearing out that GSP gets more aggressive.

Well it'll be something along the lines of: keep range, jab, quick leg kicks, sprawl counter hooks after stuffing. If shields comes forward, take down. He might just grind shields down, as shit as his cardio was when he got his ass kicked by kampmann, he may burn out fast.

Strike with him a bit to make him think that's the plan, then take him down and beat the crap out of him from half guard and side control. Gas him out on the ground, beat him up in the standup some more, then take him back down for more ground & pound. Repeat till the fight is stopped or the 25 minutes are up.

It wouldn't surprise me if GSP took Shields down like he does everybody else. I doubt he fears his bottom game.

Like everyone else has pointed out, GSP should keep this standing and exploit Sheild's weak standup. My hope is that GSP will open up with all strikes, but I'd bet that he'll primarily throw his jabs and keep range for fear of getting taken down by throwing kicks. For the first couple rounds GSP should mix up his striking with a variety of takedowns to get Sheilds off balance and tire him out with GSP on top. Then he should attempt to finish Jake off, on his feet, in the latter rounds.

It may very well be something most of the people wouldn't expect.
