Wtf... A whole thread basically asking how it's at all possible that anyone could support a particular fighter??? Surely this is a waste of space, it's a patronizing subject with no decent answer.
Hmm... I don't like Chael Sonnen but some people seem to, surely no one is allowed to support him, I think I'll make a thread about it...
Part of my support for Bisping is ofcourse the fact that he is British and is representing the UK, this does not mean i don't support fighters from other countries. This one can be difficult to explain to Americans but easier to explain to Canadians, i've seen Canadians on this board support the Canadian fighters and explicity list even the more average fighters as their favourites. With Americans it's a bit different afterall the vast majority of fighters in the UFC are Americans and most of the events take place in America, the owners of the UFC are American etc.
I'll admit my support is fueled further by people who give him an overly hard time, which inturn probably fuels the cycle of hate into a never ending, vein-pulsating circle. Bisping has did thingsthat make me cringe but i understand them even if i cannot condone them.

I think you are way off in that....as I already stated in this thread, walk off KO's are treated with the highest form of esteeem from Mark Hunt on Chris T. to Anderson Silva on Vitor Belfort because they are so rare and difficult to do.
I combined your two posts as they feed into the point. What you are referring to is hypothetical. Would if Bisping hypothetically unload on a fighter late cause me to get upset, maybe. Though it wouldn't be worse than when he broke three different flagrant rules in the Rivera fight. Or when he injured the only fighter on TUF that could have beat him in practice.
Marks Hunts KO walk off was more smug than respectful. He broke three rules in the Jorge fight? I thought there was the illegal knee and the spitting, cant remember the third one. There is no "maybe". You would have absolutely used Bisping uncessarily punching some one as another reason to hate the guy, no maybes about it. And he purposely injured a fighter on TUF? I've no clue what you're referring to here.

Lawler/Lindland....same night as the Henderson fight are you outraged about this?
Yes it's called muscle memory, it's a powerful thing all fighters, basketball players, and football players have. We have a big problem in America right now with a commissioner in the NFL regulating and fining defensive players for their hits.
Why would I be out raged? I've said numerous times already that I wasn't bothered about Hendos after shot, personally I thought it was brilliant! Just pointing out how if the roles had been reversed, the online community would have exploded into a huge Bisping rage.
Yea, I know what muscle memory is.

If you take a look at the fight Bisping fell into him, his legs kicked out, Henderson stepped over them and went for the final shot. It was a reflex, same as when Schaub saw Mirko roll over before going for the final shot. And all of this takes place in a second, in the heat of the moment.
As late shots happen more than guys who pull up, it's not a big deal to me.
You can't see how a person could feel that way? Really?
Dan is one of the most experienced fighters in the game, I feel that he knew Bisping was out and still landed that other shot. He still said post fight that he knew he was out and threw it any ways, then later decided to change his mind and say he only said that to please the crowd. I just dont believe the man.

And damn proud of it, I've been a Lesnar fan for 9 years going back to Ohio Vally Wrestling when he was in the Minnesota Stretching Crew with Shelton Benjamin. I was a fan with the way he walked away from Pro-Wrestling after "The Flight From Hell" and I became a huge fan when he talked smack to Frank Mir a fighter who threatened to kill him in the ring.
But I rarely talk about Lesnar in Lesnar threads because I understand people don't like him. And I try not to apologize or make excuses for the man, I'm confident that history will prove me right.
I havnt tried to apologize or make excuses up for Bisping. I can understand why people dont like him too, but I think some of it is just blown out of proportion. I came in here to state the reasons why I personally like him and point out the irony of the Henderson KO if the roles were reversed. I personally have no problem with Dan landing that shot, its part of what made that KO so great. How ever, we all know that if Bisping was the one in Dans shoes, there would have been an uproar for his actions.
Marks Hunts KO walk off was more smug than respectful. He broke three rules in the Jorge fight? I thought there was the illegal knee and the spitting, cant remember the third one. When Jorge was going for a sweep Bisping reached across the mat and grabbed the cage. During The Ultimate Fighter he was the one who torn Matt Hamill's rotator cuff, he got him in an arm bar and he claimed Matt didn't tap.
The fighter in question -- I forget his name -- is a good wrestler but has no BJJ and couldn't strike a match. He's the one who produced the most embarrassingly amateurish performance of the entire season, where even though he won he couldn't continue in the competition as he was so bashed up.
Do you know who I'm on about? I can picture his face but still can't remember his name but I remember personally sending this novice to the hospital with a busted arm and my mate Kendall Grove -- a middleweight -- knocked him silly with a high kick in sparring.
I couldn't find the clip, thought everyone talks about it
Watching the season again it seems clear that the guys where definitively against Matt, most of those guys were pretty shady. Watching the clips of the show almost every episode featured someone talking about injuring another fighter on purpose. I think if you watched the season again with an open mind they'd come to the same conclusions I had. When Hamill was was on this season he was sabotaged.
