A. Silva Stomp Lutter, Legal?

Kinda late but I'm a big Silva fan but is it legal to stomp a down opponent? If Lutter had not moved to avoid it would Silva had been DQed?

Also whats the rules for knees on the ground?

Ye i also noticed this, maybe Silva still has a bit of Pride fc still left in him. As for the knees the rule is that you cannot Knee to the head of a downed opponent or something like that.

ive seen a lot of people use that stomp on a downed opponent. you can do almost anything to a downed opponent as long as its not to the head. he tried stomping him in the gut.

Weird. I thought I remember a referee issuing a warning for doing this in the UFC.
I could be wrong.

From what I saw it looked like he was going for the head. Either way you could see it was an attempt to punish him for not making weight. He looked angry while he did it.

Anyone know where one could find the NSAC actual rules?

I think no stomping is allowed at all. I think the thought behind it is the amount of damage a 250 lbs guy leaping onto another guy and landing on his stomach with his heel can do.

Either way, I'm sure Silva would have gone to the head had he been able too. rules are for whiners
