Totally different situations.

The results of Michael Vick:

The results of Chael Sonnen:

Not defending Sonnen's actions, but you CAN NOT compare money laundering to dog fighting

It goes beyond that...its the flippant attitude people have towards Sonnens crimes.

There were organizations calling for Vick to be lynched. Yes, lynched. Added to which there was no evidence that Vick participated in dog fighting, it TOOK PLACE on his property, but no evidence of Vick actually in the dog fighting ring.

Squirrel, Im sorry but I believe you are trying to debate semantics. Chael Sonnen participated in actions that were part of the broader perspective of the recession/real estate bubble burst. His actions inadvertently effected peoples lives. Yes dog lovers and PETA had a case against Vick...

but its rather foolish and childishly dismissive to act like Sonnen's crimes are "not a big deal, dude"

Never heard of such a thing. But generally the people who want to "lynch" someone don't want to because of their actions...

The point is that he was aware of the events occuring on his property, making the events his direct responsibility. He deserves far more punishment than he recieved for his actions.

Chael Sonnen was not responsible for the demolishing of the American economy? No, the misuse of the stock market was what has done this damage to the American economy. Its well known that some silly fool who laundered some money is not the reason the economy fell apart. If that's what you think, you're rather uneducated regarding the American economy.

I never said it was okay, anyone who thinks doing anything illegal is okay is obviously in the wrong (in 99/100 cases). The point I would image is that some people can separate the fighter from the man. I personally can't and I look at the individual as a whole before supporting someone, but to each their own.

Sonnen money laundered (victimless cime). Not that I support it, but he's far from some hardened criminal. It's not like Sonnen was breaking into peoples houses and cars and stealing their personal items.

As far as the elevated testosterone...

Quote:
During the appeal, which saw numerous confusing statements from commission members who did not appear to fully understand the situation, Sonnen used a defense based on his doctors confirming that the former WEC star suffered from hypergonadism, a condition marked by abnormal functioning of the gonads that usually results in lower than normal testosterone levels and usually requires testosterone replacement therapy.

According to Sonnen's doctors and legal team, he was diagnosed with the condition and reccommended for a doctor-supervised TRT in 2008 and that he had disclosed his condition previously in other fights with no problems resulting from the medical procedure.

Sonnen's defense team somewhat successfully argued that the therapy was within the rules and regulations laid out by the CSAC and that the problem lay with Sonnen failing to properly disclose the synthetic testosterone shots as part of his pre-fight medical paperwork.
Sounds pretty legit to me... but then again I'm not mad at him for beating the piss out of Silva...

I guess if I was a Silva fan I would be mad.

RIP Jordan Corder. Watch over me from above brother.

I remember when the thread first appeared discussing his hypergonadism and his replacement therapy.

Something that I noticed, and others did as well, was that while he was taking testosterone therapy, his levels were 5 times what they would have been with replacement therapy.

From my point of view he was using his medical condition as an opportunity to abuse steroids. THAT is why I'm not sad he might be gone for good.

From what I read in the OP article, the Big Cheese is not letting Sonnen get away with "I told him about it"...

Now Sonnen is saying "actually, my manager talked to him about it"...first of all if it wasn't him but his manager, it's really no big deal to me.

Second, how come Kizer never addresses if in fact, Sonnen's manager did approach him or not...

I have a feeling there is more to this...

I have been watching Chael fight for over six years now. He is a very exciting fighter to watch in the octagon and out of it. It is the out of the ring crap that I cannot stand about this man...and it makes me a hater. Look at the facts...the guy is a hooker! He will turn any trick for a dollar. Next on his list of PED's will probably be Nazi crank to counter his ADHD! I hope everybody wises up and sees that this dude is a waste of talent! I would rather see somebody legit try their best and fail than see this "Roid" monkey in the ring trying to screw the real fighters out of hard earned $.

Proper preparation + a split second hesitation = total domination.

I really wanted Sonnen to beat up Bisping, but hell this is even better...hopefully they keep him from fighting long enough to get really rusty, then he loses some fights, goes over the hill & finally he is forgotten.
Scumbags like him has no place in the UFC..IMO ofcourse.
