With Bones he just needs more experience going deep into fights so he learns how to control emotions and keep his breathing proper and heart rate down. You can't really replicate that in practice. I don't care how many miles you run with a parachute on your back you will gas if you can't keep calm and control your emotions.

Give him Brandon Vera. Would be an amazing muay thai battle and a dream fight for me.

On a more serious match up, I say give him Hamill after Rampage beats him.

Will make predictions for credits. Please, I'm so broke.

That's not to say the knee is the FULL reason he lost. He obviously gassed later on in the round. Could 'Pride' Shogun of taken that knee and come back to win the fight? Maybe, who knows? But with the added effect of ring rust and another knee surgery, he couldn't.

I am not saying the knee gassed Shogun

Felt the need to bold the above
So can I ask you this? Why didn't Shogun quit mentally after eating that horrible knee strike right to the liver in the second Lyoto fight?? And in the first one as well and much much more?

Because, Shogun never quits mentally! Normally he is not human in there and I have NEVER EVER seen Shogun break mentally. To claim something like this shows that people are just grapping at straws. These arguments do not make sense anymore to me.

It really seems to me that people have never seen Shougn fight before in there life when they try to explain his loss. It's crazy to think this Kry.. absolutely out of this world.

I'm a big Shogun fan but his strategy for the Jones fight was as wrong as the one for the Machida fight was right. He wasn't the same after that knee.

... I didn't say it mentally broke him either. All I am saying is it played a part in his loss. Comparing the knee's he took from Lyoto and the one from Jones isn't going to work either. In both Lyoto fights he was undoubtedly in great condition, not coming off of a surgery and ring rust wasn't a factor. Nor did they connect within 5 seconds of the fight. Just because a fighter doesn't get knocked out by a huge left hook that lands flush in a fight, doesn't mean he can't be knocked out by a huge left in his next fight.

I am by no means saying Shogun is mentally weak, the fact he lasted till round three is proof he isn't.

The fact that Shogun himself says the knee played a part is enough for me. I am not saying the knee is the sole reason he lost the fight Bobby.

And I'm pretty sure I've seen Shogun fight before Bobby...Please don't use that arguement.

So we do finally agree both that Shogun wasn't Shogun that night, which was all I said from day 1! That was all I wanted to hear from the people who know Shogun and I am sure you know him and his fights Kry, thanks!

Yes. I never disputed that! I said before the knee surgery and ring rust played a part in it, and the knee he took added to that.

I think a 100% healthy Shogun vs Jones fight would be different. Do I think Shogun would win? Probably not but who knows, he'd do alot better however and it'd be a war.

Yep, would be a totally different fight and the fight we had all been waiting for. I believe Shogun would take it, but thats just hypothetical.
