its really frustrating to see hardy get takin down so easily and not be able to get back up.... needs to work on his wrestling like crazy if he wants to start winning. i like the guy and love watching him fight... but lets face it, was his title shot against GSP even close to being warranted? he knocked out a couple of cans, combine this with the UFC hype machine and you have a no.1 contendor for the title.

Dan Hardy has always been overhyped but he is a good guy and a fun fighter to watch. Having said that, if he loses to Lytle he would/should definitely be cut.
The article is a bit inaccurate in that it makes Hardy out to be some sort of master on his feet, which isnt the case. Yes, Hardy is better on his feet than on the ground, but he's still nothing special even when he's standing. Hell, when he stood with Condit he got KTFO quick.
The dude is a respectable fighter but he just doesnt have enough skills to hang in the ever-competitive UFC.

Hardy's hype was directly correlating to Mike Swick's.
MMA changes in a heartbeat, a year or two in MMA is like ten years in real life.
Mike Swick was looking unstoppable (not in hindsight) at welterweight and had beat almost everyone he faced standing. Then he looked bad against Hardy who happened to look alright that night, and they use Hardy's win streak for epic hype against a champion who had run out of quality opponents.

Hardy barely even trains wrestling if Gareth Davies is correct.

The only great thing about Dan Hardy is that he has alot of heart, any man who refuses to tap when GSP has them in an arm bar, and then a wicked kimura, wins alot of points. Other than that, solid striker, sub-par everything else. Having said that however I think we should hold off any calls for him to be cut from the UFC. Hes still relativly young, has plenty of time to grow and evolve as a fighter. And if nothing else he brings his all to every fight.

I believe Hardy has to take a leaf out Bispings book. And no I don't mean illegal knees, I'm talking actually learning some wrestling! Bisping has very respectable wrestling, especially takedowns, for a Englishman. I'm not sure training in Nottingham is the best idea anymore although I understand he fought for the Safe Auto Fight team. Would Greg Jackson take him on board? Even fighting at Wolfs Lair will help.

I like Hardy as a person and I think he is an entertaining fighter (when he is not on his back).
His wrestling is definitely his biggest problem, as he can't use hig strength (stand up) if he gets constantly taken down.
However I also agree with some that his stand up is nothing spectacular either...

I think a lot of people here are knocking hardy's stand up because he got KTFO against Conduit. But that shit happens when you go toe-to-toe with a big hitter. Buster Douglas KO'd Tyson and become a millionaire overnight, it just proves the theory; if you can hit hard then you have a punchers chance.
Dan hardy strikes me (no pun intended) as a fighter who is willing to learn and evolve.
He deserves his 4th shot at the UFC.
But as many here say, his ground game and TTD are terrible. Its time for hardy to adjust his priorities training wise.

BOOM!
Bisping is very good on the ground and on his back. His hip escapes are outstanding. Bisping will not be stuck on his back, not even by Sonnen.
Unfortunately I think Hardy and Bisping are not the closest friends!
