1. For a first show, the production was pretty good. Its gonna take time for the announcers to get used to working together. The fights were solid until the main event but you cant blame EliteXC for that.

2. Herb Dean is a very good referee.

3. EliteXC seems to have some deep pockets with the amount they are trying to pay for Vera and having your first event live on Showtime.

4. Title fights will come when they develop a solid core of fighters.

5. Establishing a girl's title would be a big step for MMA.

6. If they change the 15 second stand up rule, I'll agree to watch every event they have.

Pretty good start for EliteXC IMO.

I would agree with kds13 for the most part. EliteXC was like a mini-Pride event. It was funny hearing Mauro talk about dragons instead of "the samurai spirit". I initially rated it a "C" but after watching again it would probably be a "B-". Except for Shamrock/Gracie the fights were respectable. I've seen a few Pride and UFC cards that were worse IMO.

Krazy Horse was acting like an ass, Frank was too. But the show was pretty good imho. Krazy Horse's post fight interview had to be the worst ever lol..

they should buy it just to sideline vera for stepping out of place!

Just kidding, Vera is an exciting fighter, too bad elite xc was willing to pay way more than he was worth. When are these two bit fighting organizations going to realize that throwing lots of money at fighters doesn't necessarily translate into high ratings?

Hell, most of america doesn't even know who chuck liddell is, mainstream fans just watch UFC exculsively, and bigger mma fans that may be tempted to watch other organizations make up about .01% of the US population, which does not translate into profit if you are paying guys like brandon vera a million plus to fight.

Exactly my point but probably put a little better then me. Regardless of who has the better quality fights, the economics do not make sense that someone can boost a brand against what the UFC has established. Americans want one organization, its already UFC. I truly believe the game is over....and for the better for fight fans...unless people like that Chuck and Wandy havent fought because of legal contracts........real cool.

A groan of tedium escapes me...

If the UFC could land a spot on a channel like Fox or NBC for their main even title fights they could make millions. I mean if you look at how much the Super Bowl and NBA finals pull in off just advertisements during the game it's insane. They wouldn't need to use paperview.

Supposedly the UFC is working on something with HBO.
