I should have made myself clear earlier but I don't mean UFC is going to by Elite next week. I would be suprised if that happens in the next 2 yrs. that is the timeline I am talking about. Execs at Showtime are not going to want to pay money on a product that is losing and i think it is going to lose.

Also, I am not dissing the fighters. This is strictly an opinion on the business aspect, I don't criticize fighters like this, check my posts.

Well you're right about one thing. But it just doesn't seem to measure up. HBO is like 12 dollars a month? Or something?
How much is it? lol
I just don't see how they can pay enough to balance it out and have it be worth it for them?
Also, why assume Elite XC is going to lose?
Have you never seen the first UFC? It wasn't exactly the spectable you see before you today.

On the first UFC, yeah holy shit, that was a long time ago. VHS style LOL. I don't know if the UFC would have made it at first if they had competition at that time, hell it almost didn't make it without competition!

The Elite XC show was IMHO better then PRIDES first US show. But I think PRIDE was putting on a watered down show with faces the American audience could connect with.

HBO is 10 measily bucks a month, I wonder if many people will get it just to see the PPV? I will get Showtime if have the time to watch the next Elite XC. I like MMA under any brand name, and a fighter should go where they get paid but in a perfect world IMO it would be one brand, and the fighters getting compensated for the revenue they bring in. I have no problem if a guy gets paid a Million for 1 min of work if the company get 30 mil in revenue because of the fighter.

Either one of us could be right and I appreciate the points you have brought up.....hmmmm...whatever gets us the fights we want to see and compensates the fighters.
