When will UFC yawn and buy EliteXC?

http://www.*******.com/ufc/UFCSpike-...r-Ratings.html

A rerun of UFC Ultimate Knockouts 2 pulled in almost a million more viewers then EliteXC. Granted Showtime is a premium channel but c'mon, that was a live PPV! and it didn't cost 39.95. I think the battle is already won. Everything here in America is UFC or "Not UFC".....I don't think the "Not UFC"s are gonna make it. Fighters are creeping up on the million dollar a fight mark and I think they deserve it for the revenue they produce but....yeah, I see UFC going the way of PGA, NFL, NBA, and MLB.....I don't see this sport going the way of boxing.

Thoughts???

Naw.. they won't buy EliteXC... they will just kick there asses when the UFC hits HBO.

On the otherside of the coin, EliteXC just debuted, you gotta give them a little time. Their really wasn't much hype for the EliteXC, so the average "fan" didn't even know about it. I would hate for them to go under.. more the competition the better.

There were a few problems that I had with EliteXC:

1) The show itself kind of looked run down, a little like the old UFCs in the smaller arenas. It just didnt look very good.

2) The dumbass 15 second standup rule. It seems that the promotion is looking to rush back into standup, not suprising considering the guy who runs the promotion is a boxing promoter

3) Titles. I think that some type of title, a division, or maybe even a womens title should have been established during the show. Possibly the Louiseau/Villasenor should have been a Middleweight title, just to add a little more interest to it.

Now, don't get me wrong, the fights were good, but for a promotion creating a lot of hype for itself, I don't feel it lived up to all its hype.

I'd agree, and at this point, I wouldn't have paid to see it. Not to mention, Herb Dead and being a horrible referree.

IT depends on how "deep of pockets" the EliteXC guys have. With having Showtime as there network thats a good start.

It will take time to know for sure. I"m sure down the line if the investors are going more and more in debt and Dana see soem talent he wants to buy he'll swoop in and buy it.

It takes time and money. I think its early to predict atm.
