But, I'm pretty sure you're a Rashad fan, and he's probably your favorite fighter, whoever it was, so I'll just take solace in the fact that Lyoto made Rashad look like a bitch. Incase you know, they don't ever respond.

I didn't neg rep you, because if I did, you would never be green again.

But I'd love to debate with you on why Rashad Evans is NOT anyhting more than a whiny, arrogant, disrespectful jackass.

I'll start by saying watch the video in the OP.

On the Machida fight:
Mama: I think I went to sleep during that fight.
Rashad: I think I did too. *laughs*

Rashad is going to get worked. What does he possibly bring to the table against Jones? Reach is out of the question, age is out of the question, overall skill is of the question.

I don't see this ending well for Rashad in any way and will take a sig bet of that for sure. Bring it.

Rashad Evans
Reach 74.5 in (189 cm)

Jon Bones Jones
Reach 84.5 in (215 cm

The reach difference ^ could make things interesting.

Age will have nowt to do with it. Rashad's only 31 and has just about reached his prime. Chuck didn't reach his prime until early 30's, as did Anderson Silva. It's not like Rashad's reflexes have gotten slower yet or his been knocked out so many times. On the contrary, his skills and physical attributes are as high as ever. The reach thing isn't as worrying as it appears on paper for me. JBJ's has some wicked skills, sure. But reach is only as effective as your opponent allows it to be.

I think Brad Imes' reach was almost as long as JBJ's and look what happen to me. Plus Rashad's got that frame and quickness that makes him good on getting inside his opponent and delivering short hooks and other sort of counters. The striking aspect won't be as one sided as people think, bet on that.

The key to beating JBJ might be what Bonnar alledgedly heard - putting him on his back. Rashad has the tools to do this, that needs no debate. So I guess we'll find out if JBJ can handle that and not break.

That could very well be true. He might get flustered on his back. However, what I see happening is Rashad putting him on his back, and Jones throwing a crap load of elbows from his back, forcing rashad to move to avoid damage, and giving Jones the opportunity to get back to his feet or reverse.

If Rashad couldn't handle Machida's striking, he isn't going to be able to handle Jones striking.

Rashad might be able to get him on his back, but he won't finish him. Jones is so much bigger than Rashad I can't imagine Evans being able to hold him down. I think the key to beat Jones is to be like Bonnar, big tough take a beating for 10-15 minutes wait for the cardio to fail and go for the finish.

I've read many comments regarding Rashad being able to get Jones on his back. I don't think this is even a remote possibility.

And the trash talk? It's nothing more than a hype machine nowadays.

I will start by saying that I am a Jon Jones fan. I have been so for years now; however, Rashad Evans is doing something that should have been done a long time ago. The champion should be the best. If you are not willing to fight a friend, we simply will not know who the better fighter is (like Silva and Lyoto).

People give Rashad Evans a hard time, but at the end of the day, he gets the job done. He can talk as much as he wants because he can back it up, unlike 99% of the people who talk bad about him. Under the same token, he can laugh about the time he did get knocked out. Like him or not, he is talented.

Contact me if you have any ideas about what the amateur MMA league needs/should have.
