A potential slugfest of a fight has been added to UFC 132 with Andre Winner (11-5-1 MMA, 2-4-1 UFC) taking on fellow lightweight Anthony Njokuani (13-5 MMA, 0-1 UFC).

UFC officials today announced the bout and stated that verbal agreements are in place for the fight.

UFC 132, which is the UFC's Independence Day-weekend show, takes place July 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The night's main card, including a championship headliner between bantamweight titleholder Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber, airs live on pay-per-view. It's not clear if Winner vs. Njokuani will be part of the broadcast.

Winner, "The Ultimate Fighter 9" runner-up, find himself in a must-win situation. He began his UFC career with a 0-2-1 mark before putting together back-to-back wins over Roli Delgado and Rafaello Oliveira. But the Team Rough House fighter hit the skids again in recent losses to Nik Lentz and Dennis Siver, and he now looks to avoid a third consecutive defeat.

The Brit could be fighting for his UFC career when he meets Njokuani, who looks to avoid his fourth loss in five fights. The Nigerian-born fighter had strung together three consecutive WEC victories that resulted in three straight "Fight of the Night" bonuses. But he's just 1-3 since then following a decision loss to Edson Barboza in Njokuani's promotional debut at UFC 128.

Tough fight for Winner. Especially after 2 straight losses.
Njokuani is on a 1-3 run himself.

All the ingredients to have an exciting fight.

I'm picking Njokuani in this one. He looked very good against Barboza.
