Honestly, this doesn't surprise me in any way. In fact, I pretty much suspected as much anyways. I honestly don't see what Rashad brings to the table that would indicated he has any kind of solid chance at this... at least any more chance than any other fighter Jones has crushed/walked through.

Maybe that. But even so, i don't buy the whole "Rashad got the better in practice"

Wanna see how GSP *owned* Rashad in sparring?!?!

4:00-5:40

Or how Shields owned Phil Davis in sparring?! (seen on UFC's 129 Primetime)

I call bullsh*t.
Just like you called everything Jones said before fighting Shogun, right?! You and many others...

That turned out well...

I f*cking love what he said there!

PS: i'll stop here and say this. I'm gonna enjoy seeing Jones drive those elbows through Rashad's face.

he isn't gonna speak the 100% truth in an interview, and neither would Rashad... so who cares. Let 'em fight and find out who is the better.

Fedor, Mir, Lytle, Serra, Hendo, Chuck, Minowaman, Maynard, Forrest, Hunt
Pickett, Cerrone, Matt Brown, Bisping, Weidman, Barnett, Lawler

Rashad's got to think he has a chance. I mean, if not he would've done the whole "I'm not fighting my friend/training partner" bit. Why fight a fight you KNOW you're going to lose?

I don't know how much of a chance he thinks he has, but he must know something...

If you listen to Jones in the interview, he's basically saying he could have crushed Rashad but did not because he wanted to give Rashad the respect as his mentor.

I'm sure Rashad probably thinks he has a chance because he's never felt what Jones is capable of.

As usual, what Jones is saying is rather douchey, but I certainly don't doubt it.
Well said!

I never thought Rashad beat him, my point was that the other poster said Jones was a better source than an unnamed guy from Jackson's gym. My point was that Jones really isn't because who would say they used to get their ass kicked? Not that Rashad did.

I know man...

I bet once the fight approaches a lot of stuff will fly from each side (more from Rashad imo = built frustration).

We should know more than to take seriously every word that is thrown out there.

And it's practice...when have you heard about fighters going all out against eachother in practice?! trying to hurt eachother or choke eachother out?!

And like i've said: it's gonna be fun watching Jones elbow Rashad's face into the canvas.

.

Haha, I'm sure you'll love. I personally don't like either guy so unless the card is stacked probably won't be ordering that event.

I am a little curious though if Rashad will be able to frustrate Jones a little, the same way Hammil and Shogun did, as well as Bader a little bit. When Jones starts to get frustrated he seems to do stupid things, which I think will lead his undoing if he doesn't mature a little bit with that.

I have lost count of how many times I have gone over this with you.

I have not questioned his ability as a fighter since he fought Bader. I only question the nature of the man behind the fists, something I am growing tired of explaining to you.

In this case I am mocking his horribly transparent smacktalk.
