yeah but thats like me bringing out the first superbowl winning qb from 1901 and letting him play for the patriots in the superbowl, he is a legend but letting him still play/fight is stupid

no this would be like letting the old guys play baseball before the world series. its perfectly fine on a prelim facebook telecast.

Off topic, but one case doesn't prove anything. There are risks and it's better to acknowledge that than say it's "safe". It's annoying when even someone like Dana say it's safe too. I think it's contra-productive for the work of getting the sport legit because people see it as obviously biased and don't take it seriously.

But I agree that Severn is no joke.

Yes. I also think that it's not bad to make some kind of "living history" lesson so people may get curious on how all the sport had started. And it's not like they would put such a fight on every event.

Yes. That's a question I asked to discuss in my thread "What if Royce Gracie didn't win UFC 1ż" I guess, MMA wouldn't be a mainstream sport today without Royce Gracie winning UFC 1.
