Mirko's career should be done at this point. However if he wants one more fight to finish out his contract then I feel he has done enough in his career to be granted that opportunity by the UFC. The Mark Hunt fight would be a nice goddbye to the fans and the sport.

That would be cool, and it'd help resolve the split decision loss he got from Hunt in Pride.

Look, I love Mirko. He is, and will always be one of my favorite fighters. However, he should retire. He hasn't shown any flashes of the flashes of brilliance he used to show in Pride.

There is no reason to assume that a fight against Hunt would be entertaining in any way. I would much rather he retire and save us all the misery.

From CC's biggest fan here that's honestly pretty depressing to read.

Dunno what happened to Mirko really. Guy needs an indepth biography done on what happened in the transition from Pride to UFC.

It's pretty depressing to type. I've not been happy with a single CC fight in the UFC yet. I was starting to get excited during the schaub fight, right before he got caught, because he was starting to turn the tables and get his old confidence back. Hell, I thought he was going to start smashing Schaub. Then he ate a stupid punch behind the ear and he's out.

Just simply depressing every time.

C'mon dude that's harsh. He muthafukkin STEAMROLLED Eddie Sanchez.

Then I think he didn't train at all for Gonzaga, got KO'd, and mentally checked out to this day. He trained really hard for JDS with Remy and Yvel but then went back to training in his basement. I think I read he trained hard again for Schaub but it didn't really look like it much.

I really don't care about the reasons anymore. I'd rather remember him with how he used to fight, instead of how disappointing he was in the UFC.

And how dare you bring up the fight with Eddie f'in Sanchez

Haha well he ROCKED that dude, it's the only time "Cro Cop" was truly in the UFC IMO.

What were the betting odds for that one... like 9-1 or something?

Personally, were I DW, I'd pit Mirko against Big Nog on the Rio card. I think it's still a fight that most people would love to see for nostalgia's sake, and that it'd actually be a fun stand-up war with one of the two eventually going to sleep. It'd sell, it'd be fun... I don't see a downside, especially since Nog is on the tail end of his career, as well.
