GSP incorporates gymnastics workouts into his training

Gymnasts have to be some of the strongest athletes in the world.

Pure strength, balance and agility. More MMA fighters should incorporate gymnast workouts into their training.

Nice find Mck.

The move that GSP performs is a basic move in gymnastics when performing at rings!

I've trained gymnastics from when i was 7 years old 'til 15.

Rings is a very tough apparatus, one that requires a lot of strngth and incredibly balance.

PS: i've learned that move when i was about 10-11 years old
Of course, the trainer didn't make us do it over and over again like GSP does.

.

BELIEVE!

Gymnastics are great because they make you able to fully control your body, they're probably the best base in any sports.

My 9yo son is actually regional champ in this, and whatever sport he tries, he's good at.

it's like learning the piano in music, it gives you a strong base for everything else.

Yea, I actually did gymanstics at around the same age you did, from like the age of around 7-8 till I was 11.

At this point I believe that no one else has even close the quality of training that GSP does. He is approaching everything with such intelligence and discipline, always trying to think outside of the box to make himself a better fighter. He's doing this throughout the whole year, too. Amazing.

edit - Georges just tweeted: '10 days'. Tickling my spine a bit.

Great videos, thanks bro.

I remember an interview a year or so ago where somebody asked GSP what the best martial art to start in MMA was. And GSP said "gymnastics."

I too took it from ages 8-9 or 10 and I wish there was more gymnastic places for people like me around here.

I think this is why he will stay champion and have a long career. Because he is willing to incorporate any style into his training to get better , he also trains smart and in general is very intelligent.

P.S he also has the best core of any fighter. IMO.

Bisping Fan extraordinaire

Velasquez will be back
