Lesnar brings in the viewers which means he gets paid the big bucks. Even so, for what these guys go through it's still pretty low for the highest paid fighter in MMA. That being said the sport is still growing so hopefully that improves over the years.

Don't feel bad, consigliere. Only a very few douchebags actually make money off it; the rest are just "that guy" who talks on the phone throughout a movie or abuses hired help.

How did we even get into a discussion about whether or not Lesnar is broke? We can safely assume that he is not, and unless he starts buying tigers and fleets of incredible cars, is unlikely to ever be broke.

it works like this

$1 for 1-450,000 PPV numbers
$2 for 450-650
$3 for 650+

Those numbers can be a bit different but thats how PPV contracts work, they can vary depending on the fighters but the highest drawing fighters get something similar.

Randy Couture had the exact same PPV contract at one point. This information was released when Randy and the UFC were having the legal troubles.
Assuming Brock gets a piece of the PPV pie (and it's inconceivable that he doesn't considering he claimed to spend six figures on each of his training camps) it's a lot more than $1 a PPV buy.

Spec is right that it is (or at least was, since we've only been able to look at the numbers once) a sliding scale.

If they still use the PPV bonus scale Randy had when he left last time, it looks like this:

100,000 – 175,000 buys – $1 per buy
175,000 – 300,000 buys – $1.50 per buy
300,000 – 330,000 buys – $2 per buy
330,000 – plus buys – $3 per buy
I'm not sure if the people at ESPN who compiled this list used the exact scale. When I put in Metzler's estimates of the PPV buyrate for each of Lesnar's two fights, I got a total of $5,295,000. Though that would ignore his $400k base pay for each fight.

They could also have a newer PPV scale, but it seems odd that the numbers from the old PPV bonus scale are almost exactly their $5.3M figure.

Some people think that they can convey either a philosophy on life or a complex political statement using a signature on the internet. I'm not one of them.

Situation is awesome, lol. Jersey Shore is the best.

But yeah, Lesnar's probably still got money from his days in the WWE, don't know how much he made but I'm sure it was quite a bit considering how big of a star he was in that amount of time, he's very well off, he knows what's important, and what's not important in life. He wants to provide for his family, he loves to hunt, the dude has nothing to worry about, except Junior dos Santos' hands.

Seems pretty accurate as far as I could guesstimate.

However, one of the biggest things is each fighter is not paid the same for the PPV. They each negociate their own individual rate for their PPV earning. Lesnar may be $1 for each PPV sold, whereas someone like Jim Miller might get $.15 for each PPV sold, or even less depending on how good of a deal he got. Any fighter'd still pull big bucks (.15 x 60,000 buys = $9000) which combined with his base pay, and sponsorship makes him a very comfortable man.

Lesnar must have the best tractors in his town. Other fighters can only dream of owning so much awesome farm equipment.
