I am surprised that Mayhem went back to the UFC. He once said, why would I go to the UFC and make less money than stay here? (StrikeForce)? I thought he was happy staying in StrikeForce at this time. Im starting to think it was indeed a Zuffa contract instead of a UFC contract, I think Nick Diaz declined to sign a Zuffa contract as well.

At the time he said that he was fighting Shields, and had just fought Jacare. Right now, its a no brainer to go to the UFC. Besides his Strifeforce contract expired. He was a free-agent, that's why the UFC picked him up.

When he'd been offered another UFC contract (after his win in the WEC) they wanted him to be a cast member on TUF, not a coach, a cast member. He was rightfully butthurt for that.

Extremely solid fighter.

He'd be pick em with most of the top guys in the division.

Mayhem should not be fighting the Silva's or Sonnen's he should be fighting the Bisping's, the Akiyama's and the Leben's. Because that is the the level of fighter that Mayhem is. I think Mayhem/Bisping sounds intriguing, Mayhem has the slicker ground game and likely has the better offensive striking with Bisping having the better defensive striking (elusiveness) and better wrestling. Sounds like an exciting fight just not one that should have title implications.

He's better than Bisping in every regard. Not even debatable.

I'd love to see Mayhem tool Bisping on the feet and ground, and throw witty remarks his way the whole lead up to it.

Your letting blind hatred blur your judgement. Look at there fights, Bisping for all the things he does mediocre doesn't get hit often. He moves out well and takes less punches than most against pretty decent competition. Miller is fighter lesser guys and gets hit more. And the wrestling, really Bisping has a fairly decent shot. This is all coming from somebody who is pretty commonly attacked for having and unfair bias against Bisping.

Great addition, highly under rated fighter. I think he would comfortably keep the fight standing against Maia and beat him there. I think he'd sub Sonnen too.

Bisping is an interesting one. I think he'd mix it up, but in the end, grind Bisping down using his wrestling and then go to work on the ground.

I don't hate Bisping at all. I'm not even biased towards him. He's simply an average fighter. Not particularly good at anything.

Of course Bisping is a "better" kickboxer, he comes from a kickboxing base, but his chin and heart are so poor that it marginalizes his skill.....I mean, Jorge freakin Rivera had him in trouble in his last fight. Miller's defense isn't great, but he has a cast iron chin and incredible heart and is definitely willing to stand and trade.

In wrestling, Bisping isn't much better, if better at all than Miller, especially defensively.

GSP had trouble controlling Mayhem at points in that fight.

And obviously, in grappling, Mayhem has the clear edge, in both credentials, and application.

Even Bisping's usual edge in fitness is marginalized here, Meyhem almost always comes in great shape. I'd still put Bisping a level above, but it wouldn't be by much.

Yes! Bring on the dancing school girls!

Man, I'll be seriously pissed if the UFC doesn't let him do his choreographed ring entrances.

Bisping doesn't have a good shot. He was able to sloppily take down Kang (after Kang checked out mentally again) but that's about it. The shot he did on Henderson was one of the most embarrassing attempts in MMA history.
