Of course Bisping is a "better" kickboxer, he comes from a kickboxing base, but his chin and heart are so poor that it marginalizes his skill.....I mean, Jorge freakin Rivera had him in trouble in his last fight. Miller's defense isn't great, but he has a cast iron chin and incredible heart and is definitely willing to stand and trade.

In wrestling, Bisping isn't much better, if better at all than Miller, especially defensively.

GSP had trouble controlling Mayhem at points in that fight.

And obviously, in grappling, Mayhem has the clear edge, in both credentials, and application.

Even Bisping's usual edge in fitness is marginalized here, Meyhem almost always comes in great shape. I'd still put Bisping a level above, but it wouldn't be by much.
You realize GSP was more of a kickboxer then than the wrestler he has become. He had a much more stand up orientated base than what he employs today. The GSP of today would have little to no trouble controlling Miller.

No I don't think so.

He was using the submission grappling game against Karo, Frank Trigg, Dave Stasser and Sean Sherk around this same period of time.

Mayhem deserves credit. Shields had trouble controlling with him too, and was quite frankly saved by the bell or else he would've gotten choked out.

Jacare handled him, but he didn't make it easy for him either.

Awesome. Mayhem deserves it. He's gonna bring so much life to the division and the UFC based on his personality alone.

Don't get me wrong though. This is the UFC, there ain't gonna be no easy fights for him, but Mayhem's tough and there ain't gonna be no easy fights against him either.

Great news he's in the UFC though!!
Hmm sounds about right because:
1. Sonnen v Bisping won't happen now
2. Vitor's got an opponent
3. They're looking for coaches for TUF
4. Miller needs more exposure
5. USA v England

I'm happy to see mayhem sign with the UFC. He's never going to be the champ but is a great personality and a solid fighter. Most of the top guys will eat him up but he won't make an easy fight for anyone.

Keep in mind mayhem now brings an MTV crowd and any dream/strike force fans that haven't made the switch yet. He's a well known personality and is proficient enough to not damage the credibility of mma. Seems like a no brainer deal for him and the UFC. He's like akiyama and bisping, brings in a certain audience but will likely never hold the belt.

I would love to see sonnen or bisping opposite miller for tuf. Either one would be truly epic on a level we've never seen.

...Very cool. I think he certainly has something to bring to the table. Hard to forget when Miller fought Shields and gave him some major fits and almost beat him. Man- the UFC has gone from the Superbowl of MMA to the Pro Bowl of MMA. They have the best MMA fighters in the world from top to bottom in each weight class. Zuffa is an incredible machine. The best thing about all of this: We the fans have gotten our biggest wish granted. Every division will be stacked higher than Vida Guerra. Even undercards are going to be sick. What seriously grabs my attention are the LHW and HW divisions. Good Gosh! All of the very best MMA HW's & LHW's pushing and shoving to be first in line. A fan's dream. The proper thing now would be to include some undercard fights since they are going to start PPV's at 9 pm now. We fans spend big money on this sport. They owe us. What concerns me is they may jack up PPV prices again. I hope not...

P.S. I'm not a link poster- but Yahoo sports listed the highest paid athletes. Brock Lesnar is the highest paid MMA fighter. He's made 5.3 million dollars so far in just a hand full of fights. That's whacked! I bet is has to do with the huge WWE draw he brought to MMA. The P4P's deserve the most money for certain...

Not quality? I can see Mayhem beating anyone from 5 and on in the UFC roster and possibly people in the top 5. Everyone gives Jake Shields SOOO much credit for being such a beast grappler and forget that Miller would have choked him out if there was maybe 5 seconds left on the clock, Shields was literally saved by the bell.

Diaz lost in 2005 to blah, blah, blah...the wrestling, yeah the wrestling...and if only there were five seconds left in that one fight everything would have been different and that means Miller is the champ top 5 in the world etc, etc, blah, blah, blah. And If only Machida hadnt got knocked the F#ck out by Shogun he would have won! Cmon man reality! Shields is boring and Miller is mediocre. Not as a side show TV host but as a fighter and will get his ass served he is one dimensional and a gimic.
