Honestly, the up kick rule is so stupid, they should do away with it. If you're on your back why shouldn't you be able to kick a guy in the face if his knees down?

Yeah, and Vitor milked that front kick from AS as well. For all the shit he gets I bet Okami really was screwy in the head after eating that. It wasn't an upkick from Sherk, it was from Anderson 'Knock you out with anything I throw' Silva. And yes, I have seen the fight.

This upkick rule really sucks.
You are taking one of the biggest weapons away from the BJJ guys and you benefit the Wrestlers way too much. It's an very unfair rule towards the BJJ grappler.
This rule just shouldn't be there!!!

Yeah that upkick rule is so awful. Probably the worst of the unified rules. The upkick-to-triangle move would really help re-balance the very wrestler bias rules of the cage.

Bring on Silva vs GSP!

Three fight winning streak, and he also beat Mark Munoz who is probably better than guys like Bisping and Wanderlei who are top ten, plus Maia will never get another title shot as long as Silva is Champ, Chael just lost, and the UFC wanted Silva/Belfort so bad it killed them.

To the three posts above however stupid the rule may seem to you , its way less stupid than actually breaking the rule and then actually thinking you somehow won the fight by using an illegal move.

Its Anderson so i think that should be enough for you to go on.

I really have no interest in getting revenge against Yushin Okami. We already fought. He lost. He got knocked out. Let's move on. But really, I'm in here to fight the best, and if he's credentialed to fight me, and he's up there to get a title shot, then he deserves it and we've got to do it."

Please dont presume that NOBODY will want Okami to win , look at Alphadawg's signature its quite obvious he would like Okami to win and so would i.
And he actually beat Nate quite convincingly in my eyes and easy points win, he lost to Sonnen 4 fights prior and now is on 3 fight winning streak, is he never allowed to challange for a title because of his loss to Sonnen ?

Maybe Anderson Silva really thinks that Okami could have continued. This is a similar situation to JBJ having a loss on his record when he shouldn't.
Hamil couldn't continue because of a separated shoulder, not because of elbows. The ref didn't do a good job in really trying to find out what was wrong, he just assumed that the elbows were the driving force in Hamil not being able to continue.
When I look at that up kick, I could hardly believe that he wasn't able to continue. We have seen worse looking up kicks in the UFC and fighters continuing the fight.

I think it was obvious that Yushin could have continued. He took the easy route against an elite fighter. Just being smart thats all.

Anderson when he faced Yushin wasnt considered elite your arguement is just false. He back then in his last 3 bouts beat Rivera ,some guy called stout who i saw get his ass handed to him in cage rage and a loss to Ryo Chonan and few fights previous he was submitted aswell.
Anderson stunned him badly with and illegal upkick and then tried to get back at Okami afterwards , Yushin was in no state to continue and Anderson was DQ justly.
stop hating.
