I'm simply seeing your side of it and going by your logic. If this logic does not make sense, that's because you're seeing it from a view that's going against Machida rather than for. I'm sure that logic is nice and comfy when aiding a debate for Machida, but feels rather ridiculous when going against him.

In reality, the excuse/logic you are using is completely ridiculous for all situations.
Luck is not a major factor in MMA. "Luck" is the result of hard training, preparing for opportunities and having the skill to capitalize on them when they present themselves. A punch can look lucky, but it ain't.

I've seen the fight 6 times with and without audio.

Every time I watched the fight I saw Shogun land more shots than Machida and land harder shots.

There are even facts and statistics from the fight to back it up. Shogun clearly out struck by a decent enough margin which should have given him the win.

Simple as that.

This. I too believe luck really doesn't have a factor. Does GSP ever let luck define any of his fights? If Shoguns punch landed first its either because he he was quicker or he thought about the punch, a split second, before Machida. My humble opinion anyway.

People like Shogun and Machida train hard for that so called luck in my opinion. They go to the gym to be that split second faster than their opponent, that more technical and they intend to land that fight ending shot before their opponent.

If knocking your opponent out before you get knocked out is considered a luck then every single KO has been lucky.
