Lyoto Machida - Wins Against LW, WW, MW, LHW, HW Champs?
Saw this mentioned, found it pretty neat. Thought I'd share with you guys here.
BJ Penn - Former LW and WW Champ
Shogun Rua, Rashad Evans, Tito Ortiz, Randy Couture = LHW Champ
Rich Franklin = MW Champ
Randy Couture = HW Champ
Would a victory over Couture give Machida a victory over a former Champion in five weight classes, would he also be the first man to pull off such a feat?

Wow thats interesting
A win over Couture would put him into the History books!
I am pretty sure no other fighter has archived that feet.
thanks to BJ Penn for having the balls to fight him

That's remarkable. I would've never realized such a thing. He is going to beat that former heavyweight champion as well.

To bad he won't beat Randy. Maybe he can call up Dan Severn or Mark Coleman to get that HW win

The "win" over Shogun shouldn't count.

It's an interesting find but really, it's not all that impressive.

Exactly,
Beating a guy in BJ Penn who's 50 lbs lighter than you, Rich Franklin a division north of his best weight, and a 50 year old man way past his prime isn't really impressive.
It's interesting, but not at all impressive.

Nobody said it was impressive. It can't be. Say Machida was a lightweight, then we would talk about impressive.
It's still interesting though.
