That sucks for Vitor, but also Akiyama. I'm guessing he has the option to turn down the fight if he wants to because of this, but so far it appears nothing has changed...

Get well soon Vitor

I thought that was Hep C. But I'm not 100% certain, maybe you can get both that way.

From what I read it's not permanent. Hepatitis A accounts for about 50% of known viral hepatitis cases in the United States each year. In the United States it is estimated that about 80% of persons over 60 years of age have previously been exposed to hepatitis A at some point in their lives. Most people are not aware they have had hepatitis A.

Man I really hope Jesus treats Belfort's hepatitis in time for the Akiyama fight. It sucks that Akiyama is going to lose though because Belfort obviously has more prayers for him than Akiyama does, which will ultimately be the deciding factor.

Belfort wins in Round 1 via prayer/hepatitis infection

Akiyama is only in danger if for some reason Vitor decides to defecate on him during the fight.

Although it begs the question how the hell did Vitor get Hep A to begin with.

No, spaulding91 was right. Hepatitis A you get via contaminated food, water and/or poor sanitation areas. It's no "serious" desease, meaning it's usually nowhere near lethal and it's not going to be chronic. And there is vaccination against it, which you should consider when going into a third world country. It heals usually in less than 8 weeks, so if he gets a doctor's clearance he should be able to fight.

Hepatitis C on the other hand is quite serious though and usually becomes chronic, but it's not as easy transphered as Hepatitis A. It needs blood to blood contact, so like HIV it is a threat for people who do combat sports. There is no vaccination so far.

No, that usual cuddling in the Octagon can be enough

It's quite easy transphered. For example he could have bought some fruits on the market which where touched by the vendor who had it and ate them without properly washing them before.

So is he asking for Jesus or doctors to fix his illness?

If Jesus will do it, why take a measly human antidote?
