Alright, Tim won the fight by decision. No argumnet there. But I expected more than 5 rounds of cautious boxing. Niether fighter was willing to be a true Fighter and let it all hang out. Tim was content to fart out the decision and AA let him. I expected Tim to just stand up but AA boxed with him! If there's anything you shouldn't do with Tim its box with him. Not one takedown the whole darn fight. AA's ground game is probably far superior to Tim's but he didn't even test it. It was just a boxing match and a bad one at that. I couldn't have planned it worse
I use to think that they were both Fighters, but not tonight. Tim had somthing to lose and he proteced it sufficiently. "Sufficiently" isn't a good fight. And Andrie Arlovski; I think he might be stupid. Everybody (except AA) knows that Tim has no ground game.

I vote that they both get there paychecks cut in half and use the money to give the fans at Mandalay Bay half there money back. Boooooooooooo!!!

Fight was Trash.....

Did I mention that that fight sucked

AA is stupid.

He got suckered! Just proved fighting is 99% mental. Tim got into his head by saying that AA went for a takedown in the first fight and didn't try to knock him out. Implying that AA's approach is wimpy. AA made a point to mention that he would take the win how ever it came in the preview.

There's no way either his corner or him thought that he was going to catch Silvia eventually. If they did....they all must get to the back of the line and fight the bums on undercards....

AA cut his chest hairs and got all manicured up.... He also came out with those white fancy trunks.... The caviar and fancy women made him soft....

Tim didn't try to finish either.... Was he happy that he didn't get knocked out or submitted?

Dana can't be happy.....Monson! who wants to see him get beat up?

TS v AA fight....I think both fighters were trying not to get ko'd rather than trying to win. Andre should have continued kicking Tims leg and Tim should have just unloaded.....sad.

I didnt want to point that out that he stopped kicking at his left leg....

Tim didn't really commit to any of his punches and seem to just counter...

He sucks......

I want to see him fight Fedor next...

Don't get me wrong when i say this, i think TS is a good fighter, but i still believe Andrei Arlovski is the suppirior fighter. . . . i think both fighters were just really cautious about getting knocked out. Also, there really isn't that many good heavyweights in UFC, im thinking Arlovski and Sylvia will happen again soon, probably the begining of next year, or maybe as soon novemeber when liddel faces Wanderlie. . . .

I'm just wondering out loud here but could a fight suck anymore than the Tim "the worst body in pro sports" Silvia vs "I used to be good" ArLOAFski.

Dana White should have gone to each corner after the second and/or third round and told the two girls to fight or loose whatever miniscule purses were coming to them. That was a disgrace. I also wish Zuffa/UFC didn't own the announce team because there was no journalism, just corporate spin.

These two will have to do some pretty amazing things in the octagon to regain any resemblence of stature in my mind. Fedor must have been rolling on the floor with laughter.

Abra Kadabra - Tim Sylvia the Magician

I must've watched a different fight than the rest of you. I am aware, like everyone else, that if you're the callenger, you have to WIN the belt. The decision will go to the Champ 9 out of 10 times. However, Sylvia's display was a joke. Over all, it was just a pathetic fight in general - more like a light warm up for sparring. But to say that Sylvia beat Arlovski is just sad. Andre was cut twice, but that was 2 out of 4 punches Sylvia managed to plant ( okay, I exaggerate a little ). Arlovski dominated 4 out of 5 rounds, and picked Sylvia's face the whole fight. It wasn't even close to being enough, but it was alot more than Sylvia did. It looked like molasses trying to race a cheetah. Sylvia was outmatched hands down. Even though this fight wasn't an example, questionable judging is appearing more and more frequently, but that is for another blog..............

I have to disagree. They both looked pathetic.AA never did anything the whole fight where I thought TS was in any danger and the same thing in reverse I still say thier purse should have been cut 10% with a warning card like in Pride maybe they wouldn't have spent the whole fight waiting for the other person.

That doesn't explain the lack of take downs. AA wanted to prove somthing by standing up like a man and fighting toe-o-toe with Tim. KO or tapout I don't care.
I use to think he was stuid but then I thought it might just be his accent. Now I think he actuallly isn't a very intelegent person.

yeah it does explain his lack of take downs. if you've ever played football or know anything about the sport you use your legs more than anything when you tackle somebody and the same goes for take downs

Losers make excuses.

If he wasn't ready to fight, he should never step in the ring. He didn't try a take down once, except to shoot when his jaw was tapped a few mins into the 1st round. But to address the issue of his leg injuries, what you are also pointing out is that AA has a low tolerance for pain.

I've seen fighters get of the canvas with a broken jaw, snap it back and knock the other guy out.. The underlying point is that he wasn't successful enough at boxing Silva, to substantiate not changing his strategy at any point, in any round in the fight.

No one would fault him for losing Galantly, or for my pleasure even in extreme violence, but he went out looking Soft. Circling around like a bunch of pancies.... Who cares whose face was scratched up more? They could've cut themselves shaving before the fight. Neither of them really hurt the other. There was no obvious intent at harm by either long-toothed punk.

Well perhaps AA can get better coaching, but he can not get a better tolerance for pain and therefore didn't disserve to win the belt on July 8th, and from what you are saying doesn't have what it takes to fight at the champ level....

Too bad, I used to like AA.

bro he injured himself during the fight... how can you say he has a low tolerance for pain when he was eating sylvia's best punches and shaking them off like they were nothing? even sylvia admitted arlovski was tough to be able to take those hits like that... maybe fighters will snap there jaws back into place but its kind of hard for them to sew together torn ligaments or muscles... also arlovski didnt make excuses. he fought the full 5 rounds instead of just giving up in the middle of the fight

Ok. You except AA's excuse. That's cool.

Both of mine are blown....So I know the pain well.

All I'm saying is that unless he was taken out on a stretcher, immobilized, walking with crutches or even a limp, I might feel different about the out come. But he moved in and out, circled and seemed to fight. Unless he blew them out in the opening bell, it doesn't explain why he didn't do anything different tactically from the opening few minutes when he realized that Silva was still standing after hitting him.
