Also just remember that not only was BJ Penn working with Matt Hughes before the Fitch fight, that goes both ways and Matt Hughes was also working with BJ Penn.

^This.
I can't believe how many people think Diego is going to take this fight. Matt Hughes will win this fight via either GNP or Sub. No way Hughes loses to diego.
1. Diego's striking is NOT that good. Definitely not good enough to KO Hughes.
2. Hughes has superior wrestling which will make Diego's a non factor.
3. Although Diego has good cardio, so does Hughes. I've never even seen Hughes tired. The cardio won't be a factor and I'm suprised thats even been brought up.

I see Diego just outworking Hughes for 3 rounds, but I'd actually like to see Hughes put a beating on him ...

I might have some trouble remembering the Almeida fight but didn't he rock him on the feet and then just quickly submit him while rocked, not really out-grapple him? and the Serra fight he won by lnp because Serra has no wrestling so he took him down and sat on him at will.
I'm not 100%sure Diego is going to win at all, Hughes wrestling might be too much for him. I just can't see how the Serra and Almeida fights are relevant, since they are so different from Sanchez.
I can See Hughes treating Diego like he did Serra though. It all comes down to how well he Diego can stuff takedowns and/or get back up. And if Hughes decides to box with him like he has alot lately, I'm sure he will lose. It will be crappy striking vs very crappy striking (Hughes) imo.

I know he is old slowing down but I take hughes in this fight if he fights smart. Quick takedown and ground and pound. If he tries to stand and trade like he did in the BJ fight then he is going to get koed because his chin is going away with age.

Diego always goes to war, i hope Matt is ready for it. I do hope Diego takes this one decisively, Hughes is on his way out and Diego could use a victory like this.

Hughes has basically only lost since his "decline" to Penn, Alves, and GSP. All of those people would or have smashed Diego.

Hughes all day. Diego has heart but what's he got to counter Matt's game? Not a lot. Matt will take Diego down and smother him all night, IMO the best he can do is survive and lose a UD.
Sanchez can make it as scrappy as he wants, he'll still get controlled, bad match up for him.

Diego will win. Hughes wrestling isn't anywhere close to what it once was and Diego isn't the strongest either, so it will come down to the striking. and the third BJ fight proved Boxing>>>>>>>>>>K-1 level striking.
