I remember when the PPV transmission started. Joe and Dana were talking about the main card fights and they were literally screaming on the microphones.

So, i don't know about the crowd being quiet.

Kind of quiet for 55k, but let's be honest, the main event was kind of a sleeper.

Just talked to a guy in my karate dojo who was there and he said it was so loud it was painful. He had to put in earplugs or he wouldn't have been able to stand it (according to him).

Just one guy but there you go.

Well, the stadium they were in is a big building, so it'd probably be easier to hear crowd reactions in, say, the MGM Grand because it's a smaller building

I thought the same thing. I think it had to do with it being a stadium not an arena. The sound had more space and unlike football where the cameras are in the crowd, the cameras are down by the cage so didn't pick it all up.
