Rogan is awesome but Goldberg is just an embarrassment.

I don't mind them as a team, but I do find Mike Goldberg pretty irritating a lot of the time. I'm a big Rogan fan; think he's good for the sport and he's not afraid to say when he doesn't agree with the judges decision, and has often made the case for a change in the judging system which I respect him for. With Goldberg I understand why he's there, but he still annoy the hell out of me.

For me the best thing would be if they replaced Goldberg with Bas Rutten. Think him and Rogan would make an awesome team, and Bas would be able to bring a better analysis for the stand-up game.

Although this would mean the end of the Joe Rogan drinking game.

Yeah, I like Joe too. they should use actual fighters as their commentators, like Forrest Griffin. I read his book, he's damn funny.

Now with the second part. That's just a mute button away.
This is EXACTLY what I was trying to say. +REP sir.

Goldie is there for mass appeal, not for us. If people start watching MMA and all they hear is Joe Rogan's 10th planet Jiu-jitsu jargon and portugese names of submissions and striking lingo they're going to be like "**** this so hard, I have no idea what's going on."

For instance, I couldn't get into baseball for the ******* life of me until this year because I had next to no idea what the hell all the stats meant (and stats are a HUGE part of baseball and it's conversations/commentary). I was the same with football until I was about 13 and my dad finally got tired of me asking "what's that" and explained a lot of it to me. If Goldie or someone LIKE Goldie isn't there, we alienate a huge portion of the audience. Especially when a lot of people are still just warming up to MMA and it's a very new sport.

I get it. I really do. It needs to be dumbed down for the casual fan and Goldie does that.

It still doesn't change the fact that he is cheesy as can be and has facial expressions and mannerism that scream "I'm a giant douche."

Put someone else in his place with maybe slightly more knowledge and isn't nearly as cheesy.

Everytime I see his stupid head motions when he's talking to Rogan I wonder if he has tourrets and is about to yell out a curse word. I would pay money to just punch him in the face in the middle of a pre fight talk.

I also hate that he used to brag that he knew nothing about MMA and only got the job because he feels he can commentate for any sport. Seems like a douche thing to say and is even slightly dis respectful to the sport.

As much as I agree that what he says has become cheesy and douchy to a degree, he still gets the job done. My friend watched UFC 129 with me at a bar the other day, and he doesn't know too much about submission names or even names of strikes. You kinda learn that as you go along anyway. Just like with any other sport though, commentators at least come in pairs. Goldie does all the setups for Rogan. I'm sure he knows how submissions are set up by now, but he has to ask Rogan on air to explain it.

I believe Rogan has also said on record that Goldie knows his stuff. He is just asking to set it up for Rogan.

Now with the last part, I can completely understand why you think that. Though I would say MMA is a relatively new sport, so I wouldn't take that comment too seriously. Again, there's far worse. His name is Gus Johnson. I could start a forum based on how much I hate and disrespect that guy's MMA commentating. EDIT: In fact, the reason I dislike Gus Johnson is because he spits out nonsense and is bad for the sport. Goldie, however, is not.
