Although Nick has proven to be a very resilient fighter. Here's the problem. He fights against opponents who tend to gas out easily or brawl and start to play Nick's game following into the trap of him taunting them, then expending unnecessary energy.
GSP will not get tired of punching Nick in the face. Expect under UD victory. I believe GSP will break the records of being the champion with the most decision victories or probably is the winner by a long shot. Winning is winning I suppose.

The only reason I'd pay to see this fight is to see Diaz shut up once and for all. I personally don't even think the guy could take Claude P, Koscheck, Diego, Fitch, Marquardt, Penn, Condit, or Rory. But hey, let's see him fight GSP who has walked through everyone else in the WW division.
For a casual fan this fight makes no sense, another semi no name like Shields coming in because the UFC has drained the WW division of contenders. GSP has a very few interesting fights left so I suppose this guy is as good as any other. I think he'll get wrecked and I'd love to see it.
Condit, Marquardt (maybe), Rory (maybe), Diego (heh why not) and Claude P are the only guys in the WW division I'd like to see GSP fight. Diaz vs GSP is in no way a superfight.

I'll go ahead and second that. Diaz struggles with wrestlers & he might be about to fight the best wrestler at WW. Diaz must like to get controlled for 5 rounds.
He lost to both Sherk and Sanchez & yes I know those fights are ancient & Diaz has improved alot since then, but what has GSP done if not improve even more.
GSP is so much better than Diaz it's scary. I like Diaz, he's a great fighter but GSP is a nightmare matchup for him.

he subbed santos in 5 seconds on the ground and santos while a patchy record he has he is a black belt and no blackbelt gets subbed that easy

Yup..
GSP is very well rounded and he uses it to his advantage. He out wrestles strikers and out strikes wrestlers. That's not stupid fighting, that's smart fighting. You'd have him replaced with someone who is either A: Good striker or B: a good wrestler. The good striker will eventually get LnP'd by a wrestler and the wrestler will eventually get KO'd by a good striker.
GSP neutralizes everyone he's faced and he's beat them where they lack. No one is as well rounded as him, he deserves to be the champ. Finishing fights or not, people can't seem to take his belt from him.

Santos lacks cardio tho, something Nick would not be able to exploit with GSP. You are right an ungassed blackbelt would not get submitted like that. Thing is I agree Nick is better at BJJ than your average blackbelt, but subbing GSP from his back will not happen....and on his back is where he would be.
People let the fact that GSP is safe & rather boring cloud their judgement & forget how good he really is.
I'm not saying I would mind seeing GSP vs Diaz hell he deserves to get beaten just like all the earlier guys that where supposed to be "the most dangerous matchup ever" for St Pierre. But I can't see how anyone would think he would win. It's MMA and anything can happen but IMO Pierre takes it 8/10.
There are few BJJ-experts in the UFC that are dangerous enough from their back to make a great wrestler with a BJJ blackbel fear them from the bottom, and Diaz isn't one of them. IMO Shileds is way more dangerous than Diaz & a higher level grappler and I'm still 90% certain that if Pierre wanted to wrestle him & win that way, he could but he chose the safer route.
Shields whent to the ground with Mayhem and didn't sub him, same with Hendo (full mount even) & Kampmann. GSP is better than all 3 on the ground so why would Shields or Diaz sub him so easily? St Pierre is safe and boring but that "flaw" in his grappling is really just made up.

Talking about a guy that basically danced around for 2 1/2 rounds vs Maia because he knew the fight was in the bag. At least GSP stalks and is constantly attacking, he doesn't close the deal but he doesn't have too. He's not trying to win a belt the contender is.
