i think mark hominick and jose aldo have the best boxing in the ufc period.

the way that they dodged and parried each other's jabs and punches was amazing. i have never seen that kind of head movement in the ufc yet, and those punches were lightning quick too.

i doubt bj would be able to dodge those punches like those two did. there are more powerful strikers but not more skilled ones imo.

WHAT ABOUT LEONARD GARCIA MR SPLIT DECISION(LEWLS,LOL)

Maybe, or maybe they both have really bad aim :)

I think they are up there. Aldos boxing has definately improved, he is still a bit sloppy and lose with his punches, but he really learned how to stand in the pocket and dodge and parry as you say, which allowed him some great counter-punching opportunities. It was thoroughly impressive to see his hands improving so much.

Hominick no doubt has some of the best boxing in the UFC, along with guys like JDS and Frankie Edgar, even Anderson Silva could be in there, his hands are good and BJ Penn has at least a good jab, right hand and counter left hook.

Domminick Cruz worth a mention also.

Aldo definitely. Homminick imnot so sure. His boxing was good and he showed awesome heart but he got comprehensively out boxed.

I think what happened was Aldo was using his head movent in a way where he was still taking the punch from Homminick but right at the end of his throw so in reality the punches Homminick was landing had very little behind them. That gave the impression Homminick was out boxing Aldo when he definitely wasn't.

Damn it's been a great month or so for blackhouse! Bonuses galore!

I agree. I actually told a Coworker today that i have NEVER seen head movement in the UFC like that yet.

am i the only one, who thinks hominick resembles bisping..? great engine, throws alot, has fast hands and feet, but lacks a bit of power..?

hominick is definetly sound technical, but i wouldnt call him elite, as he was quite clearly outboxed by aldo. Aldo i would call elite. To me it seemed as if aldo knew, that he couldnt go 5 rounds, if he had to use his feet, to get away from hominicks punches. Instead he chose to stay close and use subtle movement, that would make hominick miss. That was some serious shit aldo did, by far the best ive seen in the ufc. He was clearly better in all aspects, when it comes to striking.

Frankie Edgar and BJ Penn disagree.

lol edgar and penn?

i dont think they have the best boxing, especially aldo, his boxing is getting much better but its not really great yet, you still see the MT punches instead of a boxers punch but he does have great timing and reflexes

aldos striking by the age 26 could be better than AS, hominick...while very good i dont think hes as good as aldo

so yeah they are awesome but i dont think they are the best in UFC

Its an opinion and in my opinion i feel that Frankie Edgar has better hands than Aldo as does Penn IMO , Striking overall maybe not because neither throw many kicks but Aldo mixes them in but pure punching Edgar has better combinations and speed and Penn has better power and precision thats just how i see it.
